As a priest, who has celebrated Holy Communion twice today and is departing for a Cistercian monastery tomorrow, can I just say that this 'Easter Egg rage' is nonsense.
If you care that much, get yourself to church, and then perhaps you will realise that our faith is not based on confectionary or its packaging.

@adamndsmith @speakoutsister Are any trans people saying “He’s not one of us!”

When Kevin Spacey was accused of sexually assaulting Anthony Rapp, he announced that he was gay.
He was hugely criticised for seemingly using his sexuality to try and distract from the accusations.
This police officer, who spoke “a lot about the powers he had” in the Met as a special constable, acted male in 2018, acted male in the five years of their “on-off relationship”, and acted male during most of the trial.
It was only during the sentencing that they transitioned.
Most trans people spend ages transitioning. Most doctors recommend living in their affirmed gender for at least three months to over a year before starting hormone therapy - to ensure confidence in their decision.
That’s self identification, and that’s not what appears to have happened here. I don’t think most people realise that - why would they?
This person may be transgender and a danger to women, but they are not a danger to women *because* they are trans.
“The key point is that you are a very significant risk to women,” Judge Cooper said. “This is not predicated on your trans status, but on your criminal status.”
I feel sorry for the victims, for women, for the trans community that has to put up with this, and for anyone who feels unsafe when they may have only seen the headline.

@WalkAlanWalk @WingsScotland There are now more encarcerated transwomen sex offenders than women sex offenders in the UK. Not per capita, actually more as a hard number. From a supposed population of 49,000 (ONS Census), as opposed to 30 million women, there are around 150 transwomen, to just under 100 women

🚨 The Olympics Committee is reportedly planning to ban transgender and intersex athletes from women's events completely.
They'd also make all female athletes undergo genetic sex testing to compete.
This is a huge reversal since they dropped universal sex testing after the 1996 Olympics and have avoided blanket transgender rules for years.
The recommendations are expected sometime in the first half of 2026.
Over 80 human rights groups are calling it a "catastrophic erosion of women's rights" and pushing back hard.

@cathydevine56 @NME He is a sinister, yet initially plausible operator. He’s a continuation in a long line of political opportunists. A chancer with a good line in seeming authenticity, but a chequered history of principled thought.

Regressive, sexist & misogynist.
This man is a danger to women's political & legal rights.

Your basic thesis is that the backlash against trans came about because trans activists moved too fast and failed to put in the work.
I don’t see that. After the wins of Gay 1.0, the public was told, and believed, that Trans was just Gay 2.0. Initially, the public accepted it and did not make much fuss.
But over time, the public witnessed a growing presence of trans in their communities, and in volumes that had never in history been witnessed. Trans (Queer Theory) was being indoctrinated in schools and, worryingly, their children, who had never before displayed any remote interest in trans, where suddenly announcing, sometimes in groups, that they were wanting to take life altering hormones and slice off body parts.
What changed was that the public, who earlier lacked focus, began to pay attention. What they saw they did not like. Not only was what was being sold highly implausible, it had all the markings of a dangerous cult that had become embedded into every institution in society. The trans phenomenon turned from a voter side issue to, for many, the most important issue of our time. When Malcolm Gladwell says it is the singular issue of over 50% of voters, he is right.
What solidified it was that the public’s legitimate questions were met with accusations of transphobia, authoritarian efforts to muzzle speech, and politicians willing to take away the rights of women, children, parents, families, gays and lesbians. Trans activism has also sought to rewrite reality, science, medicine, language, and law. This has made the blowback even bigger and the stakes even higher. Trans ideology in society is now seen as a malignant cancer that must be excised in its entirety.
This blowback is not yet over. In fact, it is growing. The public was once willing to see trans as a civil rights issue. It no longer does. Trans is clearly a mental health issue.
Trans identities are not real; no one is actually trans. Trans identities are avatars. They are the creations of minds fleeing internalized homophobia, trauma, emotional pain, autism-related rigidities, identity cries, or social anxieties. The core belief—that one’s psychological gender does not match one’s biological sex—is no longer entertained as potentially true. It is utterly bonkers.
Gender dysphoria is a sort of cognitive dissonance created by excessive rumination on trans identities. It drives people to undertake harmful behaviours, such as the pathological desire to change one’s body.
Trans has infected society. It will only be cured when the gender affirming model is gone and people are treated for their actual pain.
There is still a long road ahead.

Because of the insane pursuit of net zero and failure to exploit our own oil/gas.
Instead, we pay Norway £40 billion for oil and gas extracted from North Sea fields next to ours.
