@funnyLgirl89 “Man, Friday’s come around quick this week!”
English

@theintercoolerx Fantastic, but I’d have loved another hour or so!
English

@DanielCars05 Test drive a new one the other day. Loved it, but yours is a much nicer colour 👌🏼

@funnyLgirl89 Seems like a bit of a waste of a Sunday

@theintercoolerx Regrettably @theintercoolerx I’d be far too busy tunnel hunting to hear any naysayers!

It’s the car many of us assumed Porsche would never make – a paradox, a contradiction in terms, a machine at odds with itself. Take a 911 GT3, the hardcore road-racer for which lightness and structural rigidity are fundamental engineering attributes, and remove its roof, doing irreparable damage to both. The result is the 911 GT3 S/C, the first ever droptop GT3 Porsche.
But maybe this isn’t such a watershed moment after all. Porsche’s GT department has been here before, both with the 911 Speedster of 2019 and Spyder versions of the Boxster. The GT3 S/C is arguably a natural extension of that bloodline, and while purists and car journalists may wince, the appeal is clear – what better way to enjoy one of the great modern performance car engines?
The weight gain over the coupé is actually quite modest at 35kg, meaning the GT3 S/C remains a sub-1500kg car. The 4-litre, naturally aspirated flat-six is unchanged, still rated at 503bhp, still capable of spinning all the way to 9000rpm. In the S/C it drives through Porsche’s six-speed manual transmission, itself one of the best in the business.
The S/C uses lightweight components from the limited-edition 911 S/T, plus carbon ceramic brakes and magnesium wheels to further keep weight in check. The fabric hood is electrically powered and as if to prove a point, it uses magnesium parts too. The roof can be stowed in 12 seconds at speeds up to 31mph.
The S/C borrows its chassis setup from the GT3 Touring, so it hasn’t gone soft even as it goes soft-top. The black windscreen surround gives it a unique head-on appearance, while the optional £24,110 Street Style Package adds graphics on the front wings, PORSCHE lettering on the sides and wheels finished in slate grey, among other similar design elements.
This is a GT3 for a different sort of purpose, and perhaps a different sort of buyer. But given that it’s not a limited-run model and prices start at £200,500, it’s bound to do excellent business for Porsche just when the company could really use it.

@AutoPap @PorscheGB That colour looks deep enough to lose your arm in, stunning!
English

Really impressed with @PorscheGB customer service. Small niggling first World problem sorted with so much care and attention.
Love buying cars off people who actually look after their customers.

@mandyjsh @simonfarnaby B loved it too! Dancing his way around the cinema during the end credits 🥰
English

@simonfarnaby perfect! Thanks for taking me back to being a 7 year old who believed in magic! (My 4 year old grandson loved Moonface) 🌚🧚♂️🪄✨️

First half marathon in my 60s done. Brilliant event, and the slowest, most comfortable ride home known to man. Perfect morning.

Turn my TV off to put my son to bed, come back half an hour later and can’t find any TV channels or live tv. A new issue every day @skytv
English

@AutoInfatuation I could only dream of 22! I got 18 at best.
English

@stephenson_a Fuel consumption is sadly just one horrific part of running one 😭
I did 52,000 miles in mine over 3 years at 22.7mpg as I did a lot of longer trips but still ouchy on the wallet.
English

V8’s are truly fabulous things in both Petrol & Diesel form (I’ve had at least 6 so far)……until you get the opportunity to daily a Twin Turbo V12 for 3 years and it utterly ruins cars for you going forward as nothing will ever come close again 😭

AutoPap@AutoPap
Everyone should own a V8 at least once in their lifetime.
English

@hot_girl_meg1 In which case I think you’ve missed one
English

@ShamiKalra I think the first few races are going to be pretty eventful whilst the teams work out how they’re going to best use battery etc and then they’ll be quite homogenous. Hopefully by then there are some interesting points positions…
English

Ah well. Some of the racing was good, rest of it was back to processional business for #F1
