@luccatuita I immediately stopped watching. I get it's storyline but they lost me at the brutality. Seemed like the spirit of the show died with him. Then some idiots elected that POS and it was all too real.

Slavery was legal.
People who freed slaves were criminals.
Segregation was legal.
People who stood up for equality were criminals.
I heard this story once about a teacher who took a fish out of its bowl and left a classroom of children as it flopped around.. telling them that if anyone left their seat, they would be expelled. All of the children sat and watched as this fish flopped gasping for air, not wanting to get up in order to avoid getting in trouble. Finally, a girl sprang up from her seat and ran to the fish, placing it back in the bowl. Ultimately, she was the only one who refused to watch the fish die.
When the teacher returned he told the class that this was a lesson. That the fear of getting in trouble should never stop you from doing what's right. That sometimes.. you may have to oppose authority and group think, simply because it's the right thing to do.
Never use legality as a guide to morality.

Mary Lau, 80, was sentenced to just 200 hours of community service and a $67,000 fine. She killed Diego Cardoso de Oliveira, Matilde Moncada Ramos Pinto, and their sons, 1-year-old Joaquin and 3-month-old Cauê. They were waiting for a bus to take them to the San Francisco Zoo.

It was 7 years ago this week when
Indiana Senator Birch Bayh passed away.
Senator Bayh wrote Title IX, whose 37 words changed history for girls and women in the U.S.
Title IX barred sex discrimination in education and greatly expanded sports programs for women.
Thank you, Senator Bayh. Your legacy lives on.

Black-owned bookstores in the U.S. now have their own directory for the first time ever, launched by the nonprofit National Association of Black Bookstores — who found that:
• There are 306 Black-owned bookstores nationwide (8% of independent bookstores)
• 14 states have no Black-owned bookstore
• Nearly 90% report annual revenue at under $250,000
• Sales of books by Black authors declined by 14%, despite an increase in overall print sales
