I always had this opinion that you can professionaly cast games and be on broadcast without being good at the game you cast. Similar to coaching, you are able to explain the game without playing the game at high level yourself. Thats not my opinion anymore after learning Riftbound. Theres no way you can be competently casting this game without putting thousands of hours into it and you actually need to be good at the game to be able to make it interesting to the viewers. Game is absolutely phenomenal and the flow of it is just so interesting to observe. Players personal playstyle is really shining through decision making in this tcg.

Ahri feels worse now. The reality is Draven was a good matchup, and dreaming tree was a tremendous asset that made your game 1 insane. I designed my deck around dreaming tree game 1, to then adjust with sideboard for matchups while dropping the stupefys. Now, Irelia, Kai'sa and Viktor are very prevalent. And none of these are good matchups. Viktor used to be more even, but the loss of dreaming tree reaaally hurts our game 1. Same with Kai'sa, I can no longer turbo draw to find all my buffs and counterspells. The matchups are winnable, but unfavoured, more so than before. Irelia is also unbeatable if they find stellacorn early, though I had a special plan with rune prisons in sideboard to tempo. So all in all. Ahri feels worse now then before. The loss of dreaming tree and rise of bad matchups is looking like a deal breaker for me. I say this as an Ahri main who had a few good performances in locals pre bans.

I can't even rap my head around the deckbuilding possibilities set 3 is going to bring to Riftbound. Seriously, the vast majority of the cards I've seen revealed have some kind of potential. So many archetypes, so many variations of said archetypes. It's going to be insane.
