@truthiness2010 5 years ago it was all pearly kings and beefeaters, on every corner. And Shakespeare, just walkin’ round, writing’ stuff.

Both Paul and his brother John were commissioned as official war artists during the First World War - Paul from 1917 and John from 1918. Learn more about them and their work on our website: bit.ly/3ZejYKt <2/2>

@steve10772 @1418research No👍 However I did once have a "conversation" with a battlefield tour company when I "indicated" that I wouldn't be guiding any more coaches crewed by people of "Welch" origin.

@1418research Where were the "advisors"😧 ... though "advisors" shouldn't be needed to address such a fundamentally simple situation. Early 1970's I once voted for a "fringe" party out of frustration & anger at my "circumstances" at the time. God knows who I'll vote for this time🥴

My Dad is going on a Peninsular War battlefield tour this coming September, something he has wanted to do for decades. I can't go with him due to work commitments, unfortunately, but at least this weekend we've booked something for next year in that we can go on together.

#WW1 @DrLindseyFitz What a fantastic read this was. I didn’t think I could be shocked by the Great War anymore. At time’s gruesome, but brilliantly, sensitively written and researched. Technicalities superbly explained. Probably the best anti-war book I’ve ever read.

@QMGS191418 It’s basically the same film. Pierce Brosnon is very good though.
