Today marked my last day at @UTS_MedSci, unbelievable how fast 3 years have flown by. Thank you to everyone in the school for all the support and opportunities you have given me which has allowed me to grow as a fledging independent researcher.

Very pleased to see this work out. The study sheds light on the importance of two major F plasmid lineages in E. coli causing BSI.

Pleased to report this work was published yesterday in @BioMedCentral Genomics. Our work indicates that two plasmid types previously associated with pathogenicity predominate in E. coli from bloodstream infections. Co-authors: @maxcummins1 @steve_djo

This concept is called ORBIT (Oligo Recombineering + Bxb-1 Integrase Targeting) & it was pioneered in Mycobacteria by Kenan Murphy & @SassettiLab (mBio 2018). They get credit for this clever idea!
Our paper extends ORBIT to E. coli & pushes in a few new directions. 4/15
