@Genetics56 I have to disagree. Get rid of the committee, Go with AQ and put a clear path forward for everyone to decide on the field. Seeding and 1-2 at large can be computer based.

PSA: Keep the college football playoff at 12-teams. No AQ, no expansion. Complaints, arguments have all resided over teams with 2 losses or more. No team has been left out of a 12-team format that should have been included. Just because change can be had doesn't mean to change

@overrated_sec Alabama has been very good but has been handed opportunities in 2011, 2017 and 2023. They’ve been lucky in 2008 (McCoy) and 2012 (undefeated OSU ineligible). I don’t think they’ve ever ended up on. The wrong side of a close call.

@GrantSpeaks1 So if BYU loses the drop? Would that same logic happen for Alabama?

@NicoleAuerbach I think it gives them flexibility to keep them there or move them with a loss. May depend on how they look,OT loss, fluke ending, etc. or it’s just SEC bias at its best!

Alabama at No. 9 feels like a decision that will allow the committee keep the Crimson Tide in the field even if they lose to Georgia in the SEC title game.

@ClayTravis After watching this week it should be Miami, ND, Oklahoma and then Alabama for the last three spots. If Alabama wins Oklahoma is out.

If only one team can make the playoff between 10-2 Notre Dame and 10-2 Miami, which team should go?

@davebiddle It’s also Kentucky and Miss St. The inconsistency they’ve shown is not worthy of a playoff team.

You can't really argue with Texas' logic (I mean, you can if you want). If they didn't play at No. 1 Ohio State and instead scheduled a cupcake at home, they would be a lock for the CFP at 10-2. Should we penalize them for being 9-3 due to that OSU game? (I know, the UF loss.)

@TomFornelli If Auburn wins you could go Miami, ND, Texas with Oklahoma on the outside. Completely justified at that point.

This country needs to have a serious discussion about letting Oklahoma into the playoff.

@dannykanell Put them both in and drop Bama. Miami beat FSU and Alabama lost. Plus the ACC vs SEC matchups didn’t quite show an overly strong SEC this weekend.

Okay so now we have one quality common opponent between ND and Miami in Pitt. Miami was better in worse conditions vs Pitt actually trying to win the game. But this is stupid. Because instead of that we could just use the actual game when they played each other Miami > ND

@ClayTravis FYi - It’s Alabama in the last spot not ND. And Miami had a win over a common opponent where Alabama has a loss (FSU). Texas is rightfully done!

Miami finishes 10-2. I don’t understand how 10-2 Notre Dame gets in over them as an at large. Everything is setting up so far today for the committee to have a bunch of tough decisions on at large picks.

@CFBHeather @ESPNRittenberg @espn How does guessing with a committee get you “the best teams”. Put in a structure that makes teams earn it on the field like every other sport. AQ’s will work. 5th best team doesn’t need a shot.

@Genetics56 I think anyone listing Alabama 2nd is right up there with the LSU person. They still lost by 14 to a bad FSU team and that loss still should count

@AmicoHoops What is the most the Cavs could pay LeBron if he were bought out? Would the league be ok with a Bronny for a 1st round pick deal that could motivate the Lakers to do a buyout?

@Lane_Kiffin Don’t lose 3 games to lesser opponents! Indiana earned it and dominated their schedule. The teams that earned it made the playoffs. Results don’t change that.
