Marc Andreessen thinks Elon Musk hasn't just built successful companies, he might have actually cracked the code on how to manage for the next hundred years. The fundamental problem with any traditional organization that has multiple layers of management is what Andreessen brilliantly describes as "compounding lies." Every layer distorts reality just a little bit more until the original mission is completely lost in the bureaucracy. Musk’s method completely destroys that outdated corporate structure. It relies entirely on an extreme focus on substance and getting straight to the truth. By stripping away the noise, he has figured out the exact blueprint to reconcile being a chaotic fountain of ideas with being a ruthless, systematic builder.

@WolfgangRi68915 @chamath You’re from the EU so not sure why your commenting on our tax system. In the end this will only drive people making over a million move to another state thus reducing tax revenues for the state of Washington.

Dear Chamath, 1) it will empower and allow increased wages for public administrators and teachers. 2) it will ensure a fair and equitable distribution of wealth. 3) it will still allow upward mobility, as it is only a 10% tax. If anything, the rate is set to low. All the best, Wolfgang

Here is what a tax like this does: 1) It excites people with zero agency and infinite envy. Beware of these people. 2) It will keep middle class people firmly in the middle class with no real chance of getting wealthy if they stay in Washington State. It should be clear that this IS the strategy. Learned helplessness of the electorate will keep Washington State’s current elected officials in office. 3) It will never allow the upwardly mobile of building any assets or real wealth unless they move. Capping the American Dream is a dystopian and malevolent scheme. It cannot be a valid strategy. But unless droves of middle and upper middle class people leave Washington State, this strategy will win.

🚨BREAKING: Washington State passes their first ever income tax. Incomes over $1M/year will be taxed at 9.9%. Married couples share A SINGLE $1M exemption, so if combined incomes are more than $1M, you're getting taxed. This will obviously eventually extend beyond millionaires. What comes for others, will eventually come for you! RIP Washington state!

@ChillNRelaxed At some point, you’ll have to come to the conclusion this is an institutional problem not a coach problem.

Oregon State Mens Basketball Coaches since Ralph Miller - 19 Seasons 342-198 .633. Jimmy Anderson 6 Szns, 79-90, .467 Eddie Payne 5 Szns, 52-88, .371 Ritchie McKay 2 Szns, 22-37, .373 Jay John 6 Szns, 72-97, .426 Craig Robinson 6 Szns, 94-105, .472 Wayne Tinkle 9 Szns, 127-158, .446 It would be amazing if the Beavers could find a coach that could win at minimum 50% of their games. I'm almost a 40 year old man, and in that time Oregon State has never hired one. We are ready, but I don't think Barnes is the guy that will get the job done. Might as well throw the program away and spend all the money on football and baseball. #GoBeavs

“You either need to transition your child or you don’t get to keep your child.” Attorney Erin Friday says California Child Protective Services can threaten parents who refuse to use their child’s preferred pronouns. She told me she feared calling the police when her 13 year old daughter ran away because she worried CPS would take her child. “My daughter, who was 13 years old, just starting high school, was secretly socially transitioned at school.” “The school started to call my daughter by a male name, use male pronouns.” “When I called the school and told them to stop, that next week Child Protective Services was at my door.” “The next day, the police.” “That was an immediate alert to me that the school wants to parent my child.” “If I didn’t follow and call my daughter a boy, Child Protective Services may come and take my child away.” “Parents in Southern California had lost custody of their children because they wouldn’t transition their daughter.” “I already had a black mark, and a few months later my daughter ran away.” “The normal thing for a parent to do is to ask law enforcement to help find your child… but I couldn’t make that phone call.” “Because Child Protective Services can swoop in anytime and take my child.” “It’s coercion at its highest level.” “You don’t get to parent your child.” “This is America. This is insane.” @erinfriday75490

BREAKING: 🇮🇹 Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni: "You raise your voice to defend your people and they call you racist. You want your children to grow up in a safe neighborhood and they call you xenophobic. We want the laws of your country to be written by Italians, not by a bureaucrat in Brussels. We want to be masters of our own home. It is not hatred to demand that those who enter Italy do so by asking permission, respecting our cross, our language, and our laws."

As someone who has A LOT of family in Mexico and has seen events like this happen after any type of cartel leader being removed or arrested; none of this is new. Of course there is a focus on Guadalajara for the WC, but life seems to have kept going forward for most people there.

FIFA last night moved to quell concerns following weekend’s events in Mexico. Say they have “full confidence” in World Cup host countries & said it would be misleading to suggest there are “significant concerns” within FIFA about situation in Jalisco. nytimes.com/athletic/70674…

Byron Scott on the biggest difference between Kobe Bryant and LeBron James 👀 “Kobe don’t want no friends. He ain’t trynna be your friend on the basketball court. He ain’t giving you all this lovey dovey sh*t. Kobe trynna take your heart! He didn’t give a damn. ‘I got championships’ that’s what he cared about. Leaving a legacy on the court he didn’t care about making friends and all that other crap. He cared about winning. That’s the biggest difference between those two. Kobe wants to kill you on the basketball court.” (Via Byron Scott fast break)

Doc Rivers quickly and emphatically ends the fake goat debate the same way so many others have: By listing accomplishments never achieved by a single player other than MJ that MJ did over and over and over and over again. It's a discussion-ender every time
