Just completed a congressional oversight visit with members of the New Jersey delegation. Delaney Hall should be shut down. This is not America.

They sued right after Trump signed the order on March 31st. It directs DHS and SSA to build lists of confirmed U.S. citizens by state using federal databases, then share them with states. It also tells USPS to set new rules for mail ballots, like special tracked envelopes, and only deliver them to people on approved lists. The goal is to verify citizenship and tighten mail-in procedures to stop non-citizens from voting. Democrats and voting groups ran to court claiming it oversteps presidential power, elections are supposed to be run by states and Congress, and that the federal data is messy, with outdated records that could wrongly flag citizens as ineligible, especially naturalized ones or older records. They wanted an immediate injunction to stop it before the midterms. A federal judge just rejected that injunction a couple days ago, saying it’s too early, no one’s been harmed yet because the lists and rules aren’t in place. They can sue again once agencies actually start implementing. There’s another case in Boston next week. The “nobody’s gone further with it” part is exactly why the judge said not yet. It’s all still on paper.
