SK’s decision to remove the Trudeau carbon tax on home heating dropped SK’s inflation rate in Jan to 1.9 per cent, down from 2.7 per cent in Dec and well below the national rate of 2.9 per cent. According to StatsCan: “In Saskatchewan, the collection of the carbon levy ceased in January 2024, contributing to the province's year-over-year price decline of natural gas (-26.6%).” The Trudeau carbon tax was over a quarter of the cost of natural gas in SK.  If the feds are actually serious about fighting inflation, they would scrap the carbon tax on everyone and everything.

@nasmadotali Pricing a home well below market value in order to manufacture a bidding war does not give any factual data in my opinion.

House that got over 85 offers listed at 749k sold for $999,999. They didn’t even have 20% down payment. 2024 bidding wars no where near peak 2022 except for number of offers 😂 Times are still tough and loans are expensive.

@ChefPaulShufelt There have been some decent options but as soon as they say something “centering” or non hard core party rah rah, they disappear from the conversation. This applys to the Democrats as well. No such thing as bipartisan anymore it seems
