@ChiSoxFanMike I would bring up the 3 young arms we have in AAA now and then Thorpe and Sandlin later when healthy and just go bullpen days the entire year. Pitch 3 innings or so every game and use a closer based on feel and situation. That team could win this division.

White Sox are 1-4 but only 1.5 games out of 1st place. Just have to stay afloat in a terrible division like this. You never know.

@Ball_InMyHand He’s 1a. for me at our current draft spot and Philon is 1b. I’d be pretty content all things considered with either of them. Philon as a great pace to his dribble and he can shoot that rock too. He went off his last game as a college player which so happen to be at the UC

@ChiSoxFanMike 💯 I don’t like that he’s been playing SS as much as he’s played CF though. His most value to the team is being able to play CF. We have too many IF and lack OFs.

If Luisangel Acuña can get on base even somewhat consistently, he’s going to be a problem. Dude is electric on the bases.

@B3ARDOWNN No hate but that pick could’ve really changed the trajectory of the Bears franchise. Looking at some of the players who went after him could’ve made a huge difference. Definitely could’ve gotten our Edge. Rome has been underwhelming to say the least considering top 10 pick

Double good news: White Sox won a game. My Father-in-law's prostate cancer surgery was a success. He got to the recovery room just in time to see the 9th inning.

@cbefred Exactly. Billy coaching that game like it’s game 7 of the finals is absolutely ridiculous. Not playing Rob or the other young players who you want to see what they got for sexton, giddey and okoro is maddening. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Yes, some fans/writers are unhappy w/ last night’s process. The goal should be to lose, yet develop the young guys, w/out overplaying Josh/Matas. That’s it. Nothing else. Playing vets like Sexton & overplaying Josh/Matas heavy minutes (despite the accidental L) is foolish.
Marquis@ReignPHX

@cbefred Lmao do y'all wanna lose games or not? Bulls lose, ya complain. Bulls win, ya complain. Just unhappy as hell lol

Random Thoughts — Game 2 Last night’s 2-1 thriller in 11 innings had a lot of stars for the Knights. —Top of the list is William Bergolla Jr., who had 3 of the team’s 4 hits, including the walk-off game winner. Bergolla was the ideal guy at the plate with runners on first and second. He does not strike out and his speed makes him tough to double up, and you knew he was going to put the ball in play — that’s his calling card. —Bergolla was thrown out on two stolen-base attempts last night. Manager Chad Pinder’s teams are aggressive on the base paths — his Kannapolis Cannon Ballers led the league in SBs last season. But Bergolla needs to get better jumps, especially when he was on second base with no outs in a tight ballgame and attempted to steal third. —Tanner McDougal wasn’t at his best but he was still very good last night, with 8 Ks in 4 innings. But I was also impressed by the Charlotte relievers: Chase Plymell, Tyler Schweitzer, Zach Franklin and Lucas Sims combined for 7 high-leverage shutout innings. I’m especially happy for Schweitzer, who was unhittable in Birmingham last year but had a tough go in Charlotte. —And of course there’s Sam Antonacci, whose home run (his second in two nights) was the only other hit besides Bergolla’s three singles. Sam also made a great defensive play on a ball hit into the gap. Apparently there’s not much of a learning curve as he adds LF to his resume. —The Knights have an afternoon game against the Bulls today before heading on the road to face what should be a tough Nashville squad. It’ll be our second looks at Hagen Smith, Noah Schultz and Tanner McDougal. —And, finally, my daily rant: why don’t the Knights have a strategy on using their ABS challenges? They wasted them early in the game during unimportant ABs (I'm looking at you, Jarred Kelenic, who has burned through 1 in each game so far this weekend) and didn’t have any in the 8th and 9th innings of a tight ballgame. Interestingly, the Knights had an additional challenge in extra innings (you get an extra one only if you are out of challenges) but didn’t appear to realize it, and the umpires mistakenly didn’t inform them. —Prospect dogs, remember the name Brody Hopkins for the Bulls. He was a stud for Durham last night and will be in the Tampa Bay rotation at some point this year. @FutureSox

Brewers manager Pat Murphy, postgame: "I'm so proud of our guys. It's not easy, the ups and downs and the emotions of the game. And there's some talent on the other side. Mark my words right now: That Chicago White Sox team will be something to be reckoned with in that division."

@ChiSoxFanMike That last pitch is the most surprising and impressive thing to see with him. He swung and missed at all the time with the Sox.
