You should hear the people I get to talk to after they spend 3-10K+ at a bootcamp - it's sad

💯 There is not a single paid design course worth a dime. Many are an expensive ticket to a Slack at best. Most set folks back years at worst.
Given all of the better ways to make money, I don’t know why so many successful people are choosing to charge newcomers rent.

You absolutely don't need some bullshit "fellowship" that costs $3,000-$10,000 to work in or on startups. The people selling them did not get to where they are now because of one, and nor will you. Make things. Write about it. Talk to other people making things. Repeat.

We have a problem.
A recent study by the Survey Center on American Life found that in the last 30 years, the percent of American men without any close friends jumped from 3% to 15% — that's a 5x increase.
