❗️ A “gift” from the Lukashenka regime for the Day of Political Prisoners On the Day of Political Prisoners — May 21 — Belarusian security forces carried out a wave of searches at the registered addresses of Belarusians who had left the country due to political persecution. The searches targeted relatives of activists, as well as members of @viasna96, including Uladzimir Labkovich, who was released last year. Viasna is aware of more than 20 such cases. Some of the searches were linked to participation in Freedom Day events in Warsaw and Vilnius. The criminal case documents mention charges such as “treason against the state,” “calls for sanctions,” and “assisting and financing extremist activity,” among others. Human rights defenders view this pressure as a form of transnational repression against Belarusians.

So happy to see Ksenia smiling and enjoying life again. Chris @TheHeat001 fought for her freedom like a champ. Now Ksenia and @AlsuKurmasheva have joined forces to help bring home the Americans still wrongfully detained in Russia. Standing beside us in the first photo is @HaroldJezler, who is fighting for his wife Olga's freedom with the same resolve. Olga has been unjustly imprisoned in Russia for nearly four years. I know firsthand how frustrating it is for families like Harold’s to get the attention of top officials or secure a wrongful‑detention designation for a loved one languishing in a Russian prison. No one wants their innocent family member used as a pawn in a political game or larger negotiations. But I also know this administration is committed to bringing every American home, and @StateSPEHA is doing its damnedest to make it happen. It’s time to bring Olga home.
