Gulf airlines (Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad and more) have extended refunds and free rebooking for passengers with confirmed flights hit by the Middle East crisis. It’s a relief for those stuck, but I’m realistic that not everyone will get their money back quickly.

@njbirse @CastleCourt @electricfelix @ctrlaltrefuel Wait until you try to park and charge in the Victoria Centre. Parking and charging more expensive and that’s if you can get a charging bay that isn’t blocked by a non EV car!

Seeing double, but with bad news - free charging at @CastleCourt Belfast has vanished, 50p/kWh + 25p connection fee (on Fuuse). Greedy in my view - cost price would have been OK, but making a profit on charging and on parking (£2.20ish an hour) seems feisty, so I left it.

@TeslaOwnersUK just noticed that Lymm superchargers are under ‘maintenance’, can I assume they are then closed and not useable?

Just saw EK 128 from Vienna operating back to Dubai.... aircraft are clearly starting to return to base, and most parked ones should be home by the end of this week. It’s a positive step, but I’m still watching closely to see if the full 140 destination network follows quickly. How confident are you that we’ll see almost normal operations by next week?

UK VAT on public charging EV points has dropped to 5%. The Tesla Model 3 is being replaced soon, but there are some fantastic company car deals available. Plus you also get to blow away Porsches at the lights. Anyone tempted?

Tried a wee social experiment yesterday: had a bike that was gonna take to the dump. Parked it on bike rack at Holywood train station.. gone within a few hours. Fecking gears don’t change and slip regularly, oh and brakes don’t work.. good luck with that one 🤣

Big one from Emirates.... they’re retiring the 615-seat A380 layout (world’s highest capacity passenger jet) on all 15 of those high density frames. The 58 Business + 557 Economy setup that packed them in is done. Starting with the first ones in April, full conversion by November 2026 to a new 569 seat three class: 76 Business (+31%), 56 new Premium Economy (2-4-2 with 40” pitch) and 437 Economy (-120 seats). Non economy seats jumping from 9% to 23%. IMO: this is Emirates going all in on premium yields instead of just filling every seat.... makes business sense but the old super dense A380 was legendary for sheer size. You think this is the right move for the future or will we miss the absolute capacity king?
