@stiggle That would be something special. My fave of his: My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts

Eno’s more of an artist than musician, from nob-twiddling synth maestro with early Roxy Musuc, to Producer w Talking Heads, collaborator (David Byrne, U2), but it’s as the innovator of ambient music I cannonize him. An Influencer on the right side of history, too. HBD St Brian!

A very happy birthday to Brian Eno, born on May 15, 1948

@Toffeewolfie @blackrodblue @Bucketyed @AaronBastani Depends on which bit of Aintree - part of the racecourse and south is in Liverpool, not Sefton. But back in the early 70s, there was no Sefton (apart from the village) it was Lancashire.

Burnham wearing a Hafnia Everton shirt?
It’s over for Reform.

@orlacsm School band struggles to make it - the fight to become big. Can highlight local music scene, venues, etc.
Fictional band using some of the many tales of existing Liverpool bands.

@Nigel_Farage "Before receiving the gift"...
Would you pass after the gift, and not declaring it?
English

This is fake news by the establishment media who will do anything to hurt Reform as we challenge their cosy consensus.
I had passed proof-of-funds and the relevant checks before receiving the gift.
Sky News did not publish that part of our statement despite knowing the truth.

EXCLUSIVE: Reform UK leader Nigel Farage bought a £1.4 million property in cash, shortly after receiving a £5m personal gift from billionaire donor Christopher Harborne, Sky News learns news.sky.com/story/nigel-fa…

@Trucker_Bill_44 @SimonCarGuy Rocket had pioneering devopments which are still in use today in steam boilers (locos and powet stations) - like tubes in the boiler to increase surface area. Such an obvious idea, but Rocket was first.
Would the others be "greatest" if they weren't standing on Rockets shoulders
English

@SimonCarGuy Most iconic would be Flying Scotsman.
Fastest would be Mallard, (if that's the measurement for "greatest").
But greatest ever?
Stephenson's Rocket. It's the machine that sets the whole thing in motion, design wise. Greatest breakthrough for steam power ever.

@empiresend Shame Barrow tomorrow is acoustic otherwise could have taken it for a spin
English

@emmybooth They say they have all these costs, but still pay shareholders huge dividends.
English

@elonmusk And North Korea, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Just because they say they are something doesn't mean they actually are.

@IanRunkle For some its not an early morning beer, but a late night beer. Same reasoning why Airport fast food should serve breakfast all day.
English

This guy can get fucked. If I'm at an airport at 6:00 AM, having a beer is pretty much the only comfort.

@TVLRUG @MrSamDixon @alexhornbyrail @TVCRP @greensignallers "Train Vanished Mysteriously" - so... Northern timetabling then? ;-)
English

@MrSamDixon @alexhornbyrail @TVCRP @greensignallers We asked AI to come up with rail related comedic alternatives to what TVM might stand for. The response didn't disappoint...
"In the world of railways, the TVM (Ticket Vending Machine) is already a source of comedy and despair".
-
It also offered:
"Train Vanished Mysteriously".
English

@alexhornbyrail Bardon Mill today. A very poor sign. How many customers understand what TVM means? I do, but most wouldn't. And there isn't one in the shelter anyway! @TVLRUG @TVCRP @greensignallers

@pottermuss10 @Will_Fuzz @CowboyJunkies That festival is 20-21 June 2026, this weekend was PrintFest
English

Yes, it's the lovely little town if Ulverston in Cumbria. Birthplace of Stan Laurel. Went to see the @CowboyJunkies a fine time was had by all.

Will Sergeant@Will_Fuzz
One or two have the correct location.
English

@ISCHIOCrafts @Will_Fuzz Market Street/Union Street junction.
Its Ulverston, in the summer - of course there's a festival ;-)
English

@Will_Fuzz From the flags I would say Ulverston who always had a flag festival at the same time as Printfest which was on this weekend. A small place with a lovely can do attitude whether that was make flags with 200 cubs and scouts or everyone make a lantern.
English

@_MikeMcCartney_ @Will_Fuzz Travell 100 miles, and still in "Lancashire"
English

@Will_Fuzz Ulverston - close to home (Barrow) rather than "home" (Lydiate/Maghull/Melling)

@BrotherPlukker I prefer potted plants as I can take them all with me when I move. Its a bit harder to lift a garden.

@Will_Fuzz Bowland/Beacon Fell - looks familar, but nothing is springing out.
