Why Is Buddhist Art So ‘Sensual’? The Truth Most People Misunderstand… Many people look at certain Buddhist thangkas and feel confused… “Why is there nudity?” “Why does it look sexual?” At first glance, it can feel shocking—especially if you’re seeing it through a modern or purely physical lens. But here’s the reality: this is not about lust… it’s about liberation. In Vajrayana Buddhism, especially in tantric traditions, these images are deeply symbolic. The union of male and female figures represents the union of wisdom and compassion, or method and insight. It’s not showing physical desire—it’s showing the highest state of awareness where duality disappears. What looks like intimacy is actually spiritual completeness. The human body is used because it is the most powerful and relatable symbol we have. Instead of rejecting desire, these teachings transform it. They say: even the strongest human emotions—desire, attachment, passion—can be turned into a path toward enlightenment. So rather than suppressing, the practice is about understanding and transcending. Even the wrathful or “intense” figures you see—naked, fierce, holding unusual objects—are not evil or violent in a normal sense. They represent raw energy, the kind that destroys ignorance, ego, and illusion. It’s like fire—it can burn, but it can also purify. What looks “sensational” to the eye… is actually a mirror of your own mind. If you see lust → you’re seeing through desire If you see power → you’re seeing transformation If you see truth → you’re starting to understand Buddhist art doesn’t hide reality—it reveals it in its rawest form, and then shows the path beyond it. ~ Mario Alchemy ✨🙌🏽💫

In 200yrs from now, a whole new set of humans will walk on this Earth. We all will be gone. Strangers will live in your house not knowing that you 200yrs ago slept in the same room. No one will remember us. No one will visit our grave. No one will talk about us. We will just be another part of history, So no, it's not that deep.

WITHOUT SELF CONTROL, YOU ARE JUST A PRISONER OF YOUR DESIRES Advaita Vedanta Self-control isn’t about suppressing the ego but about transcending it through self-knowledge (Jnana Marga), realizing the true Self (Atman) is identical to Brahman, and detaching from temporary worldly identifications, using practices like self-enquiry (Neti Neti) and withdrawing from distractions to align the mind with the Infinite. It’s less about controlling the “false I” and more about recognizing the One Reality (Brahman) through discerning knowledge (Viveka) and dispassion (Vairagya), letting control arise naturally as the true Self shines forth. 🔱 #advaita #upanishad

This was written a decade ago, and we still pretend like we didn't know. "You have to get into the mindset of a girl to understand. To be at that level of self absorption is something men will find very hard to comprehend. The whole reason she took that pic is because she thought that the silly face she was doing made her look cute, but she can't just post some random pic of her making that face because it would be weird. So she looks around and tries to find something weird going on that would be a good excuse for her to make that face. She can't really see anything but she sees some guy and thinks maybe I can use the way he's standing as an excuse to take a pic of me making my sexy cute face. Now the man in the pic looks like a perfectly normal dude who isn't really doing anything weird but that's not relevant. He was just a prop she could use to further her own vain pursuits. His feelings or even the way he was standing didn't come into the equation at all. It's like when a girl tweets "When he is 6'4 <3 <3 <3". She's not thinking of the billions of guys who aren't 6'4 that might get upset about that. She's just thinking about that one 6'4 guy in her class and what she can do to get him to notice her. "hmm maybe he doesn't know he likes me. I know! I'll post a tweet saying I like guys who look like him". When you start to take people's feelings out of the equation only think inwardly it becomes easy to understand. Basically when she posted that pic the only thing that was going through her mind was "I hope people think this face makes me look cute" In other words, she cares more about how cute she looks in that outfit than her academic degree, or the hate-comments
