Huh? Not you making me defend Luke Stephens.
He did not hate the game. He was glazing it too, just apparently not enough for BioWare.
Because let’s be real, that energy didn’t switch up until he didn’t get a code.
And Fextralife? His criticism was mild at best.
The problem with Veilguard wasn’t “hate farming.” It was the exact opposite: toxic positivity.
Creators bending over backwards to praise the game, smaller accounts getting access because they glazed it 24/7, while more established creators got sidelined.

Do y'all remember when Dragon Age didn't send review codes to people farming hate content around the game and they all put up videos crying about it because they felt entitled to a free copy of the game? More games should do that. Creators that rely on being hateful bottom feeders to stay relevant should be starved of content and left to wither away. We don't need this dishonest crap.

@Mikael100001 @SlanderedOne Because they flew him out and during his preview he gave literally 0 criticism or complaints. It was nothing but high praise . Then when the game came out and everybody hated it he suddenly had a huge list of faults with the game .

There are very few content creators who have defended Veilguard more than I have. That being said, pulling codes from Luke & Fextralife due to their honest commentary regarding the game was a MASSIVE blunder.
Calling out those shady tactics wasn't hate farming, it was sounding the alarm that both EA & Bioware were hyping a game they expected to be poorly received. This was valuable information for potential customers.
It turned out not only was the concern warranted but it also became clear that the condensed presentation shown to creators like Luke was a false representation of what the overall game was like.
I don't know Luke at all and I have no perspective on other controversies surrounding him, but this take is unfair and provides cover for deceptive practices.

@bryanjedi82 @AvatarObi Yeah I specifically remember him giving glowing reviews about the short time he played with it (they flew him out) and everybody hating him on in the comments . Dude pretends to be a "gamer" but he is as corporate shill as it gets .

I was excited to play the game, played through Chapter 1, and I put it down hoping they'd put out a patch or something for the controls.
I want to give the game a fair shot, without getting frustrated by the controls and it clouding my opinion of the game, so it's cool to see they've taken the feedback seriously and are trying to come up with something.
