What is the alternative? The science that is demanded the most is the one that concerns the most people e.g cancer research and vaccines during a pandemic. God forbid people have an economic incentive to do anything even though they are much more likely to do it if there is.

@lilbabygandhi Libertarians just oppose collectivized theft for a service that not many use. Read if you want, it is good, just pay for the books yourself which you are doing anyway like libraries aren't actually free for most people anyway.
