🌶️ AAU Admissions Hot-Take💰 I’ve been on all sides of this - college coach, general admission, event operator. I get the frustration. I hate that if our family wanted to go watch 1 of our kids play it would be $200+ for weekend admission on top of all the other fees, travel expenses etc. BUT Here’s the reality. EVERYTHING is expensive right now. I don’t think most people realize the costs for the facility (especially large convention centers) insurance, table workers, referees, event staff, etc. It’s a HIGHLY competitive space, with lots of people wanting to run events. If someone could run a large, quality event and charge $15 for weekend admission, THEY WOULD DO IT. Because every team and family would want to play in that event. But there’s a reason you don’t see quality events at that admission price, and it isn’t “greed”. It’s because whoever ran that event would lose a ton of money, and people aren’t going to spend hundreds of hours putting together a youth tournament AND lose tens of thousands of dollars in the process. No one forces teams to play in the big events. A lot of teams, especially younger age groups, could definitely just play in smaller, local tournaments. But the idea that you could have large, quality tournaments where you play against good competition from other areas with $15 admission is just not happening.

“AAU” basketball. What are we doing?

Those pit bosses are clueless. Just another example of Vegas forgetting who built that city. With how tough things are for people right now, you’d think they’d welcome gamblers at every level. Vegas has become a tough place to cheer for.

Twins' announced attendance: 36,042. That's a non-sellout and 741 below last year's home opener.

South Carolina has done what no other team has been able to this season. They took down undefeated UConn and are headed to the title game.

Make no mistake, the mission is clear. 🍊🫡
