@campbellclaret You've obviously forgotten the Anglo-German Naval Agreement of 1935.
English

Amazingly this is the first ever Anglo-German treaty. And like every other sensible move in the right direction it will get up all the right noses and have Farage spluttering that we are rejoining the EU. Chance would be a fine thing
Alex Taylor@AlexTaylorNews
Merz to sign a "friendship treaty" with Starmer, we read "as Britain seeks to improve post-Brexit ties with its neighbours" In other words, 20 years spent getting back to something like where we were before 2016 and all the Brexit best-ups - for no perceivable gain to anyone
English

@GWRHelp - we are supposed to be coming home from Bath to London at 13:13 today. Atm our day looks like gambling on trying to get on the 12:43 and if that’s impossible.. then what? Try at that time to find a room for the night? Can we try an earlier train? Not great is it?
English

@johnharris1969 Isn't it backwards reasoning to ascribe the areas where Labour is/isn't investing to the views of the relevant sec of state? If Miliband/Haigh gets to spend big while Kendall has to make savings surely that's a package deal which Starmer/Reeves endorse.
English

@jasonfried It gets used at big scale in large orbs and has a kitchen sink of features, any given one of which most people don’t use. Compared to eg Trello which has a much more focused feature set but is rarely used to represent giant projects.

@BBCRadioStoke Over many years SoT council have oscillated between trying to build Hanley up as the city centre and encouraging drive-to developments distributed all over the six towns. Hanley is now in a very poor state. What's the plan here?

Labour's Jane Ashworth, Leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, answers your questions on Tuesday 23rd July with Stuart George. Put yours in the comments below bbc.in/3WeF1vF

@oakhillparkrun @SunnyHillprkrun 😝. Many thanks to the guy on tokens there who kept mine when I forgot to take it.
English

With no Oak Hill parkrun on today, where did you run, walk, jog or volunteer instead - or did you just have a lie-in?

@Regenerate_SOT It’s odd how the quotes in this story don’t seem to relate to 70% of the units being empty.

Hanley's battle to win back shoppers as £20m Hive complex has just two restaurants 8 years after launch
ALMOST as if the area has received a barrage of negative, sensationalist press over the past 8 years
Jobs for the boys & gongs all round
Well done stokesentinel.co.uk/news/stoke-on-…
English

@bt_uk what’s happening here? I haven’t been able to park at my house for a week now. There’s no sign of further work going on, just all this junk. Can you get it cleared?

Oh the irony of me ordering an eco-friendly ‘very good’ second hand copy of this @GeorgeMonbiot book and then it turns up looking like it was used to line a badger’s nest.

This is brain meltingly stupid. Delay it til when - til it takes us closer to the GE? Til it becomes an issue at the next mayoral election? The impact of ULEZ expansion will likely be less than feared, so surely the objective is get it done fast

New: Labour sources tell @nicholaswatt that a delegation of Labour MPs and candidates in Outer London and the wider region are to ask Sadiq Khan to pause the extension of ULEZ – the charges for polluting vehicles. #Newsnight | bbc.in/44xVRIT
English

@tompeck It all reminds me of Chris Moyles complaining about the original congestion charge on R1 on the basis that “It already costs me £18 a day to park”. Nobody will bat an eyelid once it has happened.
