Height of negligence that no press or gov or politicians on any side ever quantified the demand for quarantine created by international & interstate border closures. @strandedaussies did. #strandedaussies #loveisnottourism was a giant, preventable human rights breach & coverup.

Absolutely bonkers to require fully vaccinated interstate travellers to quarantine for 14 days in state that is 70% fully vaccinated. And only allowed if they fly in?? Too bad for #strandedaussies stuck across the border for months with cars, kids, pets

To travel here, you must return a negative COVID-19 test within the previous 72 hours, have a valid border pass and must complete 14 days of home quarantine at a self-contained dwelling, as long as it has no shared common areas accessible by people outside the household.

I'm happy for them, but I can't describe the pain of watching Aussie mates book trips to Fiji, Paris and Bangkok while "temporary" residents like me who've lived here years still can't see our families. It's among the most agonising, hopeless, suffocating feelings I've ever had.

He (@BOConnorMP) finally blocked me, after blocking a few dozen people who disputed his persistent falsehoods and personal insults. I'll be contacting his office to confirm it was him doing so, or whether it was one of his staffers. Lousy way to engage public. #strandedAussies

@BOConnorMP That's not what I said. I said the operation of health services, eg. hospitals, TTI etc. - all the elements of quarantine are state responsibility and C'wealth BioSec Act s 562 stipulates the C'wealth must appoint state health dept employees to run it.

Stranded Aussies think the 210/wk cap on unvaccinated is far too low. It will have to include #strandedAussies fully vacced with non-TGA approved jabs. We'd like home quarantine opened up to the unvacced (& unapproved fully vacced) with suitable premises. #travelban

@michaelkoziol If you're talking to @Dom_Perrottet, Michael, #strandedAussies would like clarification of which jabs will be recognised - only TGA approved or more? Plus families with children under 12 who are ineligible for vacc. want assurance they won't be required to quarantine
