In class yesterday we looked at Muriel Cooper’s legacy - tracing the threads between projects like information landscapes inventinginteractive.com/2010/02/01/inf… to things like Amanda Cox / NYT yield curve visualization... you can see the roots of modern data visualization

Thank you so much @AshleighAxios for sharing this story with us today. Such a delight and honor to share the stage with you.

Today at #dbbdconference, in a conversation with @strausfeld, we were able to talk about the beautiful, inspirational, and complicated story of my great aunt Camille Billops who passed earlier this year, but who did great work to contribute to and highlight Black art in the US.

It’s gotten easier for me to give certain talks, however I’ve been challenging myself to push into uncomfortable dialogues, stories, and formats in an effort to better represent and include. To not blend myself into a standard format but to push it.

Some personal news: Today is my first day as the new deputy editor for @FastCompany's technology section! I've loved covering design but I'm thrilled to focus more squarely on tech and the impact it's having on society and business. Plus, I'll still be writing! DM me tips!

Excellent argument for more explanatory 3D data viz. I can see something here that I would never be able to see in 2D: nyti.ms/300xaDv
