Dear Son.
Dear Son.@DearS_o_n·
Noah got drunk. Jonah ran away. Moses stuttered. Abraham was old. Lazarus was dead. Peter had a temper. David had an affair. Zaccheus was short. Martha was nervous. Paul was a murderer. Jacob was a cheater. Sarah was impatient. Elijah was depressed. Thomas was a doubter. Dear son, God doesn't call the qualified; He qualifies the called.

@ZacGoodman_ Genuine question. If %1RM changes and your volume changes, the velocity has to change, no? I understand the MU recruitment will maximize with lower reps, RFD will change. I mean…how slow do we want these reps to be? The velocity of 3x6 vs 3x3 is different, no?

You can run brief maximal tension in linear fashion with success for a short time. You can run brief maximal tension in undulating fashion for infinite time. I think athletes should be started on the long term path right away. We undulate our BMT for all athletes.

@BradShe24634798 @PistolRick @EMAWCaleb “For the purple and the white/silver/black” just doesn’t roll of the tongue quite so well. I’m sure the university changed it but the fight song says we’ll be faithful to purple and white so that’s what I’ll always go with. Anything else is just neutral aesthetics

@strengthpfiz @PistolRick @EMAWCaleb There us only one official color. THE color is Royal purple. There are multiple accepted accent colors. Silver/gray being one. Black and white being the others.

Many in education have been convinced that an “equal interval grading scale” is more fair. Under this system, a 60% = a B instead of a D. Would those who support this trend trust a doctor or pilot who scored a 60% on their final exams?

When Box Squatting, an Athlete should use the Box as a means of breaking up the eccentric and concentric. This is leveraging the static/dynamic contrast method to create both absolute strength and RFD. If the Box Squat is absent of a stop, it will not lead to the same result.

@BrandonHerring0 @DB_P16 I bought the nuobells- kinda like the RepOne model and powerblocks. I plan to get more powerblocks— the others were dropped and broke easily. Haven’t had that happen with the others but I don’t think they’re used as much.

Ben McCollum shares what it feels like to be around first-place people and a first-place culture. "I went to Northwest Missouri State, and my first practice with Steve Tapmeyer - best coach I've ever been around - I sat there and I'm like, 'This is what first place feels like. This is what a first-place culture feels like. This is what first-place people feel like.'" That was the wake-up call. He realized what first-place people have: "They've got an extreme work ethic. They've got an edge to 'em that other people don't - a competitive spirit." Then he quoted John Thompson: "You can tame a fool a lot quicker than you can resurrect a corpse...We want guys with a little edge to 'em." You can coach skills, but you can't coach competitive spirit. You don't want to consistently coach their effort and attitude. The last thing they look for: Energy givers. "Over the years, we found that guys that are moody don't make it in our program." "If you're moody, if you have low energy, if you suck the life out of the building - you don't make it." Talent isn't enough. Your energy matters. Your attitude matters. Successful people have a competitive edge, they bring energy, and they look to consistently get better. They raise the standard through what they do. (🎥 Watts Happening Podcast)
