Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live.

@Telegraph Introducing LTNs out of nowhere, in places where people live and already own cars should not be allowed. What are people living in those places that have suddenly become LTNs supposed to do? Sell their car even if they need one? Move out? How is that fair?

@Dr_Bekka_UK @PlayStation Is that even a real screen? As far as I know, verification is optional. You can still use the platform but you can't use communication features.

So, @PlayStation is basically unusable for me now. The UK Online Safety Act means I have to hand over a face scan or government ID just to use basic features. My PAYG mobile isn't accepted, and I’m not giving biometrics to a company with a history of massive data breaches. #Ps5

@WallStreetApes People at the top are always disconnected with reality, and this egocentric, posh dreamer is no different than all the rest. I couldn't care less about the experience. All I want is a reasonably good coffee for a reasonably low price.

Starbucks CEO defends a cup of coffee costing $9 He says the customers needs to just not think about it as a $9 cup of coffee, you’re paying for the “experience” of getting a Starbucks coffee “In some cases a $9 experience does feel like you're splurging, and then what that means is we have to make it worthwhile.” He says Starbucks customers “want to have a special experience and regardless of what your income level is, in some cases, a $9 experience does feel like you're splurging — well, this is a really affordable premium experience” How out of touch could a person possibly be…

@kunocaver @AvonandsomerRob Thanks. You've said everything I wanted to say myself. Plus, on a good day out with my family/friends, I don't have to worry about anything - charging, heating, etc. I get the entire day worry-free to actually enjoy. Your time with your family is valuable.

Cost. Range. My ice car costs less than £300 a year, tax insurance and MOT. It'll do 650 miles to a tank. The depreciation is about £100 a year if that. I only paid £1800 for it. 😁 It's all I need. Trouble free, spare parts easy. Don't care about the paintwork. A good estate workhorse.

@WeAreCyclingUK No parking, but a very high risk of your bike being stolen so instead of losing £7 quid, you lose £2000.

It’s not about ditching the car, just making smarter swaps where you can. With fill-ups now £87–£105 😅, those short “I’ll just drive” trips? They add up. Swap a few for a bike = less fuel, less wear, no parking. 👉 It all stacks over time: cyclinguk.org/financial-bene…

@WeAreCyclingUK From a commuter's point of view, it's very much about the weather. I won't choose a bike in the morning if it can be torrential in the afternoon, and this country is completely unpredictable weather-wise.

@boomingonlife @20splentyforus I bet it's a single phanatic on a mission running this group. I can't explain their posts in any other way. It's a pointless, silly crusade against something that isn't a problem.

@20splentyforus Absolute nonsense! The UK is well known for its excellent road safety world wide! Nobody is causing accidents at 30mph! Your agenda js another nudge to try and end private vehicle ownership….we see your lies

Parties obsessing about having 20mph limits only outside schools and hospitals are ignoring independent data showing default 20mph urban speed limits lowers casualties by 26%. Going backwards to 30mph would increase casualties by 33%, cost millions and increase load on NHS A&E.

@20splentyforus ...and your group is obsessing about something that isn't a problem. Speed is not a problem. People's mindset is. Drug driving, drink driving, boy racers, people who think they are wealthy enough to not care about anything and anyone. Plus, clearly you're not a driver yourself.

@elonmusk Is this supposed to be impressive? You've spent millions in hardware, electricity and wages to get it to this point. Value-to-investment ratio near zero.

@jammierooroo @SkyUK You can invoke the cooldown clause. With every contract like this, there's a fixed amount of time during which you can cancel without any penalties.

Really not happy with @SkyUK They called my elderly MIL today, a vulnerable woman who only lost her husband to months ago, and harangued her into a 24 month contract at £170 per month!!! She was crying as she came off the call and is so upset and distressed that she has called me for help. I have the same package that she’s been offered and I pay £110 a month, so they are clearly just ripping off the elderly!! Absolutely disgusting. Can’t call them as I am not with her for authorisation until Monday, but they will be hearing from me then!

Currently staying at a hotel on the motorway services. Two supercharger sites available, one north and one southbound. @tesla PLEASE let us precondition the battery remotely. It’s probably at 12° right now and when I plug it in later it’s going to have no time to warm up

@JamesMelville The most ridiculous about this that thousands have any say in the matter when the country is made of millions. Classic case of vocal minorities trying to rule the majority.

@zuess05 Learn to code the old fashioned way. Understand how computers work. How software should be built. Then, and only then, when you have the capability to validate AI output, use it for simple, isolate tasks that you know it can't cock up.

Serious question. For the last 10 years, society told everyone "just learn to code" to escape the middle class. Now Claude writes the code. What exactly is the career advice for an 18-year-old right now?

@PinkyTriathlete Most importantly, any driver found drink driving should be fitted with one of those devices that requires you to pass a breath test to start the car.
