Large, high-income urban patches like Gurgaon demand excessively high amounts of electricity, especially with so many restaurants, corporate offices, malls, & ultra-rich housing societies drawing-in massive amounts of power for ACs, lifts & lighting. Ideally, a small-modular nuclear power plant in NCR should ensure that the region meets all its needs. Till the time that can be achieved, rooftop solar is the way. Governments must go ballistic on solar.

In the middle of Delhi’s brutal heatwave, a dehydrated Black Kite had collapsed, unable to even move. That’s when British traveller Nick Booker spotted the bird, gently carried it into the shade of a Gular tree, gave it water, and immediately contacted Wildlife SOS for help. The way the bird gulped down the water said everything. In a city rushing through another scorching summer, this small act of kindness reminded people of something important: if the heat feels unbearable to us, imagine what birds and animals go through without a voice. Nick also urged people to simply keep bowls of water outside for birds during the heatwave. Sometimes, humanity is as simple as noticing someone silently suffering.
