I was truly lucky to have a father who gave everything for me and to make my dreams come true. A Vietnam veteran and funeral director for over 55 years, now we turn this week to honoring him and remembering

My father had a bad fall on Monday and I rushed back to TN to be with him that afternoon. After some improvements, but a very poor prognosis for the future, Dad went to sleep today and just didn’t wake up. I was born on Father’s Day and he always said I was his best gift ever

@chambersfw1 @nprscottsimon Hi Frank. I suspect if you go to your TV/Cable box/ Device settings, you can probably find an option that will compress/balance the sound so you don't get those level swings. I'd check that out. Good luck!

@stu_rush @nprscottsimon Get well soon! Maybe it is a good time to ask a technical question. It used to be that when switching channels on a TV, the volume stayed about constant. Now it seems the volume can jump a lot from channel to channel. Why, when electronics are so much more sophisticated?
