@stuartbradwel @focusfronting Where are you from? Of the dozens of weddings I have been to in my life, only 2 or 3 have had a cash bar - and they were in another state ( I am in the US). It's considered tacky to have a cash bar where I live. It's not even an option when you book the venue.

We talk about student 'loans' in the UK when really our system is just a slightly roundabout graduate tax. Think about it like that and it's much easier. Why lose your mind about a pile of 'debt' that doesn't really exist? Just forget about it. It's fine.

@__GeorgiaTurner Yeah, it just makes me roll my eyes rather than get angry. I kinda look at it the same way I do people buying gluten free bread as a fad. It's not a zero sum game though, and it's pointless getting mad at individuals rather than the broader context of accessibility issues.

Unpopular opinion, but I don't really care. If people without diabetes want to use a CGM then... OK? It's pointless at best but sure, whatever. The focus should surely be ensuring these devices are accessible to PWD, whereas this just feels kinda like a culture war distraction.

As someone who wrote a thesis and a book on insulin and diabetes I second this. The amount of people I've spoken to who developed eating disorders because of this shit.

@eshaLegal Ha! The show has funny moments...but it is infuriating now to think of Seinfeld and David being, respectively, enthusiastic or okay with a genocidal project.

I decided to watch an episode of Seinfeld, to rate it. My rating: Not funny, boring. 1. The dialogue seemed unnatural. It felt like the actors were reading instead of saying it. 2. The characters seem flat and boring 3. Story development in the episode too slow.

@eshaLegal It's weird because despite the occasional miss, Curb Your Enthusiasm is genuinely very funny, so Larry David does know how to make a good sitcom. Seinfeld was probably pretty revolutionary in style back in the day, but it feels dated now. Shame the lead actor is a total ass.

@ragefighthouse Back in 2007/8 as I went into YEAR 12 my school got a new head of sixth who insisted people were in at 9am regardless of whether they had classes and used to walk around berating people in their free periods for chatting/not studying. It was absurd and miserable, awful bloke.

Does anyone remember when Year 11 just… went on study leave? And maybe revised a lot, maybe didn’t? Then came in for their exams and went home again? And took responsibility and accountability for their own efforts and outcomes? What happened??
