Sports is the most underrated talent development system in America. - Harvard/NBER tracked 400,000 Ivy grads over 25 years. Athletes earned 3.4% more and reached more senior positions, even after controlling for school, major, and industry. - Ohio State: Adults who played youth sports scored significantly higher on grit. Adults who quit scored lower. - Gallup: 42% of former college athletes are “highly engaged” at work vs. 38% of non-athletes. This is the thesis behind Texas Sports Academy. Sports develop winners in life, not just on the field

Big news for @UCFKnights this afternoon as the BOT approved the creation of the UCF Athletics Strategic Investment Fund. Details will soon be worked out on how those funds will be used, though it can include revenue-generating projects such as premium seating and sponsorship infrastructure, facility enhancements tied to revenue or recruiting, technology and data systems that can improve performance or revenue, one-time investments in NIL or revenue-sharing. Story about the fund with links to the agenda documents: on3.com/sites/ucf-spor… Video of the BOT discussion: youtu.be/qogxQbvPY9A

@drivelinekyle @mentalgeorge Really interesting findings on MoA ensembles — the Grok inclusion improving benchmarks makes sense given its training distribution. Following this closely as looking to build similar multi-model pipelines for sports performance analytics. gpt-oss-120b is on my list to test too."

In early tests of my MoA harness, the behavior pointed out by @mentalgeorge was likely responsible for why the inclusion of Grok into the ensemble improved benchmarks and overall performance of the outputs. gpt-oss-120b is an interesting find! May have to try that.

Been getting a lot of value out of a /mixture-of-agents skill in Claude Code inspired by the namesake paper from 2024. I use a Proposer-Refiner-Aggregator workflow with Gemini and Codex CLIs. Helps with deep spec-driven dev workflows. arxiv.org/abs/2406.04692

Alex is right lead or be on the receiving end of the singularity. The ability to multiply your capability and reach is growing exponentially every day. The world's collective best thinkers are not only building, they are sharing in real time.

Humanity has advanced more in the past 2 months than the previous 100 years combined: • OpenClaw: greatest AI application ever • Opus 4.6: smartest AI model ever • Gemma 4: local super intelligence on a Mac Mini We have entered recursive self improvement. We were getting revolutionary technology every 10 years, then 5 years, then 1 year, then 6 months, now it's every month I have moved my timelines for the permanent underclass arrival to 6 months from now You have literally 1 job every morning when you wake up: find what the latest tech is and integrate it into your life immediately. These are the steps I'd do right now: 1. Get OpenClaw installed on ANY device (VPS is a scam). Have it automate 1 workflow you have 2. Build literally any application in Claude Code 3. Prepare for a world of local intelligence. Even if you are on the cheapest Mac Mini there is, you can install Gemma 4 and have a lightweight model running on your computer. This is the future 4. Ship ANYTHING to production. Literally ANYTHING. A small app, a course, a PDF, a service. ANYTHING. You need to be diversifying your income immediately. 5. Cut out all unnecessary vices. The singularity is coming. The light is before us. This is the time the devil works the hardest. Lock in as hard as you can. The only way to escape the permanent underclass is to be on the cutting edge Don't say I didn't give you the playbook

@alevine014 100% we need to have solid foundations and guardrails to ensure the future health of college athletics. Also we need to protect the athletes from being preyed on by unscrupulous actors.

The problems with college sports will not be solved until Congress provides antitrust exemptions so there can be uniform rules and those rules can be legally enforced. The President’s executive order is well intended, but even he recognizes the limitations. While the NCAA may likely use the order to take some actions, those actions will undoubtedly be challenged in court, and without an antitrust exemption, those legal actions will likely be successful. The @SUS_Florida is formally attempting to come up with some ideas through our Intercollegiate Athletics Task Force, and we will likely even evaluate looking at interstate compacts and the use of the Parker Doctrine (State Action Immunity from Antitrust) as potential solutions. This comes with its own set of complications. The bottom line is that there is not enough money in the system to pay for all this, and no amount of money will ever be enough. It’s a runaway train. It has to be dealt with.
Darren Heitner@heitner

Many college "leaders" are celebrating President Trump's signing of an executive order that will purportedly save college sports. What their commentaries fail to highlight is that the order does not create any rules. It does not grant the NCAA an antitrust exemption. It does not and cannot declare that NCAA rules are immune from legal challenge. It tells the NCAA and federal agencies to do certain things (such as returning to a one-time transfer with immediate eligibility rule and preempting state NIL laws). However, each of those things must still comply with existing law and survive judicial review. The order says so in Section 4(b), which conditions the NCAA's rulemaking mandate on actions taken "to the extent permitted by law and applicable court orders." The executive order's enforcement mechanism is federal funding. That's a real threat. However, conditioning federal funding on compliance with an executive order is something that courts are willing to scrutinize and reject when the legal foundation is insufficient. And let's not forget that at his roundtable one month ago, President Trump said he anticipated any executive order he signed would be challenged in court. I expect the NCAA to attempt to adopt rules consistent with the executive order's directives, and that challenges will be brought to the courts. Congress will hold more hearings on college sports. No bills will be passed. Lawyers will bill more hours (thanks, President Trump!), state attorneys general will fight back against the federal government interfering with their state laws, and the courts will strike down any new policies that violate antitrust law.

@alevine014 @BalladHealth This is the key. Everybody said AI was going to replace radiologists, it makes them more efficient. Using AI to serve more people, doctors and patients is the goal.

@BalladHealth has no interest in replacing Radiologists with AI. Said differently, and what I think my colleague in NY wishes he said….AI is demonstrating it can be a useful tool for radiologists to help read certain images and even capture things the human eye could miss, but no AI should “replace” the need for human oversight and verification. No doubt, AI can help with workload but it should always be held in check and there should always be strict human governance and oversight/verification. It’s a bit scary to suggest wholesale replacement of human specialists.

My mind is so blown I have my own personal AI research lab running 24/7/365 I'm just one dude with an entire team of AI agents training models and doing R&D I think this is the biggest opportunity right now: taking Karpathy's Autoresearch framework and applying it to everything I have a team of AI agents running experiments all day and night on system prompts, local models, and LoRAs. I also have them doing R&D on my new project. They spend all day discussing my app, coming up with new ideas, then debating eachother An entire organization of autonomous agents continuously improving my business 24/7/365 I feel like I have unlimited power Right now they are all running on ChatGPT 5.4, but today I will move them to local models running on my 3 Mac Studios and DGX Spark so this will all become free Free, local super intelligence working for me at all times. 10 year old me would think this is a scifi Do this immediately: 1. Ask your agent about Karpathy's Autoresearch. Deeply understand it 2. Ask your agent how you could apply that framework to other projects you're working on 3. Download a local model. Doesn't matter what computer you have. There is a model you can run on it. 4. Just get used to how it works. Learn from it. 5. Push yourself to get uncomfortable every day and try new things. There has never been a better/more profitable time to be a tinkerer
