Like many in this world, I believe we must stand with the Kurds and their right to exist, not be killed by Islamists in Syria or by Muslim Brotherhood aligned forces operating there, nor targeted by Islamist forces from Turkey. The Kurds destroyed ISIS so it would not reach your homes in Europe and Asia. It is shameful that we ignore such a brave, honorable, and respected nation. Watching the deteriorating situation in Syria with great concern. The Kurds are under threat from the new Syrian government that is aligned with Turkey. It would be a disaster for America’s reputation and national security interests to abandon the Kurds, who were the chief ally in destroying the ISIS caliphate. Therefore, I will be introducing legislation this week designed to impose crippling sanctions on any government or group engaged in hostilities against the Kurds. The Save the Kurds Act, I believe, will receive strong bipartisan support and must have teeth to make it effective. Stay tuned.

Some people have short memories, remind yourselves of the horror that ISIS inflicted, beheadings, girls burned alive... Kurds laid down their lives to fight and detain them. Fast forward to now, ISIS is back, Al-Julani terrorists and Erdogan backed. Unimaginable atrocities are being carried again once more in Syria. And all those world "leaders" who cheered as Kurds helped defeat ISIS, are not just silent, but shaking hands with Al-Julani!
