Primary lung tumour stereotactic body radiotherapy followed by concurrent mediastinal chemoradiotherapy and adjuvant immunotherapy for locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer out on Lancet Oncology buff.ly/4huOHek Multicentre, single-arm phase 2 trial evaluated the safety and efficacy of a novel treatment approach for patients with unresectable, locally advanced non-small-cell #LungCancer ( #NSCLC ), involving stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) to the primary tumor, followed by standard chemoradiotherapy to the lymph nodes and consolidation immunotherapy with durvalumab. Sixty-one patients were enrolled, with a median follow-up of 29.5 months. The study reported a 1-year progression-free survival (PFS) of 62.7%, although it did not achieve the primary endpoint of significant improvement over historical controls. Treatment-related grade 3–4 adverse events included decreased neutrophil and white blood cell counts, and treatment-related deaths occurred in 7% of patients.
