@nicksortor @choeshow @christopherrufo They clearly don’t need any funding if they have so much money to waste.

🚨 HOLY CRAP! The state of California has been exposed for using taxpayer dollars for S*X CHANGES FOR ILLEGALS, per @choeshow and @christopherrufo
It’s time to cut ALL federal funding for California until this BS ends.
Just insane.
English

@heresyfinancial So this assumes the government want to tax fairly. They dont, they want to tax maximally. As mich as you can afford to pay. And still they “don’t have enough”.
Im with you, its a great idea. Lets wrench greed from the grasp of politicians first though…
English

The best tax system would be a single flat sales tax
1. Most effective at promoting economic growth because the only disincentive is on consumption, and no investment/saving/earning is punished
2. It’s still progressive because the top 10% spend 50% of all consumption, so they would still be footing the most of the bill
3. No more tax filing for individuals, businesses are responsible for collecting and paying the sales tax
4. Tax code becomes obsolete, freeing up the brain drain and capital drain from the entire tax industry to productive work that contributes to economic growth
5. It’s somewhat voluntary because if you want to pay less in taxes you can consume less
6. A 10% sales tax would likely be revenue neutral after just a few years - and could balance the budget shortly after. Right now the government taxes about 17% of gdp. Re-aligned incentives and freed-up capital would stimulate massive economic growth that would more than make up for the short term revenue drop.
The main problem people have with this is it feels unfair to the poor who will pay the same percentage of their spending as the rich. But same percentage is not the same dollar amount. Rich still pay more. If you really wanted fairness, it would be the same dollar amount for everyone.

@RachelCDailey_ They will leave. You will still buy their shit though. ha ha. They’ll just enjoy their money elsewhere. Problem not solved.
English

Ha ha typical “no argument” response. Giving a 10yr old an abortion because she was raped is without question the right thing to do. LEGALISZING abortion for 10yr olds will have the effect of more 10yr olds getting pregnant because of fuckwits like you who don’t understand the link between cause and effect and unintended consequences. You are the one arguing your victims should get abortions so they cant tell on you. Im saying when you do rape them, again, there’s no question they should not be punished for your abhorrent abuse. Thats not the same as making it legal for you to hide your fkn crimes you lowlife
English

@stvystv @hell_line0 What are you even talking about. A 10 year old should have to live with the consequences of being raped? You’re probably a rapist- you’re disgusting and most likely a pedophile. I’m reporting you.
English

My bad. When I said naver, I didn’t mean zero, I meant few. You are right, but how many history teachers is there a need for? Many teachers teach for decades. Universities must be pumping out 10-20 PER YEAR, PER UNIVERSITY.
My point was not that university is pointless, its that not everyone who graduates adds their newly found knowledge to the world. Ultimately the argument was about funds and taxation and from that perspective my (corrected) argument is one I stand by.
English

@stvystv @OperaSocialist People do benefit from other degrees eg where would history teachers come from if you treat this subject the same
And there are other skills and disciplines that benefit society as a whole even if the degree isn’t vocationally directly linked
English

@dandinohill All leadership has the potential to be corrupt. We spend so much time inventing new laws but we don’t punish those who ignore exercising existing ones. This allows those in power to conveniently ignore the law that doesn’t serve them. One of many examples.
English

@StefanMolyneux Lol possibly the worst example. Force of attraction, bending on timespace or as yet tbc??? Something we call gravity exists for sure, nobody is yet 100% certain what it actually is or how it is able to affect mass in the way it does.
English

I think we can be pretty sure about gravity though
Hitchslap@Hitchslap1
I really wish more people understood this.
English

@kari_tacoma @hell_line0 That is true but still not 100% what the actual intent is. There should be more consistency, sure, but one other reply was trying to make abortions at 10 an accepted norm. er no, thats not normal.
English

@SolePetalz @hell_line0 I think the thing thats wrong with that entire sentence is getting a 10yo pregnant in the first place fkn psycho. How about don’t instead of bitching about consequences.
English

@stvystv @hell_line0 Abortions should be legal that’s the point. Forcing a child to give birth is wrong.
English

@middle_class_us If you don’t adjust your numbers for inflation, your entire point is lost.
