West Bengal currently operates roughly 2,200–2,300 government buses across state transport operators. In comparison, Karnataka operates over 22,000 government buses, Tamil Nadu around 20,000, Maharashtra over 15,000 and Gujarat more than 11,000. The same ₹4,000 crore could alternatively fund the purchase of around 6,500 AC CNG buses or roughly 2,000–2,500 electric AC buses, potentially transforming public transport connectivity across much larger parts of the state. Should Bengal prioritize building a world-class modern tram/LRT system to put Kolkata back on the world map, or use that money to massively expand bus connectivity across the state? @gurjota Me (along with a couple of colleagues) used a combo of dhan data +FII/DII + recent news + option chains and combined it with Varsity options trading pdf (250+ pages of gold) which is being fed to a Gemini pro model. It’s up and running every hour right now

This got more attention than I expected, I guess a lot of people have been trying to get hands on this type of options data which many data vendors are actually selling for tens of thousands to lakhs. And honestly, even I was about to purchase this data a couple of months back. But now I almost got it for free, so let me address some of your burning questions. 1. How can you get this data? a) I read that Dhan allows you to pull 5 years of options data, so I opened a demat account with them over the weekend - which is free of cost. b) Then you need to subscribe to their Data API - which costs 499 + GST. c) If you know coding, you'll easily be able to go through their API docs / python library to pull this data. Else you can use ChatGPT Codex / Claude Code to help you along with some Youtube videos shared below but it will take you a few hours at least to setup Jupyter / VSCode / python and get familiar with some of the technical aspects youtube.com/watch?v=YggnDn… PS: I don't think it's ethical to download the data from a broker and just share it for public use. 2. How I plan to use this data? I have a lot of ideas in my mind around rolling straddles, strangles, 5/15 min candle close, trend following, etc. which I would like to backtest. And I'm looking for guidance what would be the best way to do this. Kind of storing the data at the back end in different ways (strike wise, combined premium, etc.), and having a front end with different configurations to backtest.
