It’s pretty complex. I was taking care of my parents during my kids primary school years. With almost 20 miles between our homes, it was exhausting and it took a serious toll on our family. It was a very trying time and I don’t regret it, just wish I would have had more support.

@AHomelyHouse I taught myself basic uncial lettering this winter by writing Psalms, not finished yet. I LOVE this. Fantastic idea- this will be a skill craft they will hold forever.

My wife is starting a bookcraft club next month with a couple of friends: practicing uncial calligraphy as they're making the Arthuriad books and listening to Le Morte D'Arthur read aloud. She's already got some local moms asking about joining in. I think it's an awesome idea. I designed the illuminated book programs for younger students, but I'm getting the sense that the moms would really enjoy too. @SirEvanAmato I’m so grateful that this comes naturally to me. Living in a rural area helps. Full moon this Friday. Irises in full bloom. Dandelions already throwing their wishes. Turkeys nesting nearby, only time Of year we get regular visits. Grateful I have the time to appreciate it.

One of the best ways to get through life is to simply cultivate a love of the small things. If you can still look at the moon with wonder and shed tears to your favorite music, you're going to make it. The real danger is when you lose your ability to rejoice in these.

I went to Baskin-Robbins to buy ice cream and a woman is there with her son who was 9 years old (?). He picked out a flavor called "Daiquiri Ice." Sits down to eat it, and decides he doesn't like it. Mom takes a bite, then ANGRILY announces "THIS TASTES LIKE ALCOHOL!"
