Don’t even try to tell me that kids today walk around neighborhoods like in Sandlot unsupervised all day and bump into other kids and start baseball games. Anyone saying America is still like this either doesn’t have kids, eyes, or is lying

Shadows of Control
Shadows of Control@shadows_control·
My husband (now ex) never directly dictated my decisions, but I always ended up doing exactly what he wanted. This is how coercive control works. During Covid lockdown, he said he wanted a summer holiday abroad. Despite travel being banned, he came up with a plan involving a medical appointment to exploit a loophole. I didn’t want to go. I was afraid of all the things that could go wrong, all the possible consequences for me and others. So, I said no. Abusers don’t accept the word No. “You just want to live in fear, don’t you?” he spat out. “You want to be a sheep like everyone else, following the rules like a good little girl.” He began to harass me relentlessly, bombarding me with insults, threats, and sending me articles about resisting ‘government dictatorship.’ He positioned himself as the victim, claiming he was getting depressed and that he would “lose it” if he had to stay in our country over the summer. He used his physical health as leverage, insisting he needed a warmer climate due to recurring infections. “If you don’t agree, you are absolutely selfish and don’t care about my health at all,” he said, guilt-tripping me. Then he involved our 5-year-old son. “How would you like to go on an amazing holiday to enjoy the sun and beaches?” he asked him. “Just you and me. Mummy will stay here because she’s too scared to go.” He glanced at me with a smirk. He tormented me every day for months until I couldn’t take it anymore. So, I relented. And this is the insidious nature of coercive control. They grind you down until you literally have no fight left. You surrender to their demands and choose the path of least resistance because you have learned the price of defiance. In the end, they strip away all your power, leaving you feeling trapped in a life entirely dictated by their needs, wishes, and demands. #CoerciveControl #DomesticAbuse

I'm Going to Say It Because It Needs to Be Said In August of 2010, I wrote a widely circulated blog post about the error of the black priesthood ban which was about 1.5 years before the Church posted this statement in their newsroom (for the first time ever). "We condemn racism, including any and all past racism by individuals both inside and outside the Church." They expanded the statement and posted this (and it's still there under Gospel Topics). "Today, the Church disavows the theories advanced in the past that black skin is a sign of divine disfavor or curse, or that it reflects unrighteous actions in a premortal life; that mixed-race marriages are a sin; or that blacks or people of any other race or ethnicity are inferior in any way to anyone else. Church leaders today unequivocally condemn all racism, past and present, in any form." 'Disavows' is a STRONG word. What was it like saying the priesthood ban was in error - out loud to my ward and stake members, and posting it online in 2010? Socially, it was the equivalent of the stocks in the public square. I faced anger, resentment, disdain and ostracization. (And it's a little shocking some members still carry on 13 years later on X in like manner.) This is not a victim story - that is simply the reaction. And the discomfort didn't stop after the Church made those statements, it took several years for the news to circulate and for people to have more honest, reluctant conversations about it. Some never do. What did I learn? Oral traditions go down kicking and screaming. They histrionically gasp for lots of air and dramatically refuse to die - even in the face of perfect evidence they are wrong. It's just a fact of human nature. And if you are a part of that exposure process and speak up - it will be highly uncomfortable. How Did I Know? That's a sacred experience I can't share but the knowledge came from above with great impact. And with that experience came the drive to share it out loud. The taunts, disapproval and pushback didn't lessen that drive. Something inside knew it had to be said. So I spoke up. Why me? I have no idea. Nothing about my life is remarkable. Pretty run-of-the-mill existence with problems and setbacks like everyone else. My life was full of six kids and there wasn't much time for anything on top of that. I'm more grateful the heavens thought to reach out to me with new knowledge. That was the part I loved about all of this. Being taught from on high is one of the most exhilarating sensations one can experience. Knowledge has a life and power of its own. Repeating 2010 - I'm Calling It Out In 2025 'Heavenly Mother' as deity is an oral tradition and nothing more. It doesn't have one scripture, temple teaching or heavenly manifestation to its credit. It began as a poem written in 1845 after Joseph Smith died and caught on due to the notoriety of the author - Eliza R. Snow. Even in the poem, the idea is presented as reasoned, "No, the thought makes reason stare." In order to justify this idea - spirit birth/creation and/or spirit bodies came next. Another perfectly paired oral tradition passed around with gusto without one scripture, temple teaching or heavenly manifestation to its credit. We collectively, over the course of decades, invented the person and the purpose that person served by reinventing our own more extraordinary origin despite its clarity in the scriptures and statements by Joseph Smith. And the amount of folklore surrounding this oral tradition is astounding. Imaginations run wild. We probably all have stories about that. Oral traditions don't leave quietly and not without a hard fight. What the heavenly mother “doctrine” distracts us from and covers up are the significantly higher truths about who we are, how we exist and what our forever composition is. The Church has had a back and forth relationship with 'heavenly mother' over the course of its history. Never strongly emphasized, but sometimes quite suppressed. The latest edition (2009) of "Gospel Principles" removed all traces of 'heavenly mother' and 'heavenly parents' and replaced it with simply 'Heavenly Father.' The temple now goes out of its way to teach you what Elohim means and what persons were involved in the creation of the Earth. (m) in Hebrew can mean plural but is often used as "the greatest one of all.' For example, for kings or the best master craftsman - (m) is added to denote a plurality of greatness. Now the Joseph Smith Papers are up and we have this very plain statement by Joseph Smith: "God never did have power to create the spirit of man at all. God himself could not create himself: intelligence exists upon a self existent principle, it is a spirit from age to age, and there is no creation about it. All the spirits that God ever sent into the world are susceptible of enlargement. The first principles of man are self existent with God; that God himself finds himself in the midst of spirits and glory, because he was greater, and because he saw proper to institute laws, whereby the rest could have a privilege to advance like himself, that they might have one glory upon another, in all that knowledge, power, and glory, &c., in order to save the world of spirits. I know that when I tell you these words of eternal life, that are given to me, I know you taste it and I know you believe it." Abraham 3 says it plainly - how many times have we read it and not noticed it conflicts with our oral traditions? 18 Howbeit that he made the greater star; as, also, if there be two spirits, and one shall be more intelligent than the other, yet these two spirits, notwithstanding one is more intelligent than the other, have no beginning; they existed before, they shall have no end, they shall exist after, for they are gnolaum, or eternal. The Greater Truth of Who You Are You are far older than the stars. You are more extraordinary than you may have realized. Your legacy is far more incredible than you have been traditionally taught. You are a child of God – but just how you are a child of Him says volumes about you. You are an eternal being that had no beginning. Just like God, you always existed. You were not organized, created, or made. You self-exist on your power. You uphold God’s kingdom of your own will and power. You are an exist-on-your-own being who gathered truth, light, knowledge, wisdom, and love to yourself, enlarged your intelligence, and made choices. In the world of spirits, you chose to align with Heavenly Father and be a part of his Kingdom. This pattern is familiar to us because we live it now. It's time to retire those oral traditions and embrace Truth. What replaces 'heavenly mother' is far more regal and empowering. pregnant 'heavenly mother' >> 100% folklore

There’s always talk about people leaving the church. However a few years ago the church only had 2 GAs overseeing anyone returning whose records had been removed. The church now needs 12 GAs overseeing those returning due to the sheer volume of people coming back! Let’s go Zion!
