Today I sang 1003 "It is well with my soul." for the first time. It was the first time I'd ever really paid attention to the words, and they were very moving. Choked up and couldn't keep singing when I got to "That Christ has regarded my helpless estate and hath shed His own blood for my soul". and then felt such deep emotions when we got to "My sin, not in part but the whole Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more" A new favorite for me. (BTW I didn't realize it was an old traditional hymn. The arrangement was easier to sing than I expected just hearing the Tabernacle Choir sing it.) Image by @grok

@HistoryofHymns This looks like what the OP had access to - the complimentary pilot study resource. Which seems to include some unreleased material still on the way. Exciting to see!

🎵 Hymn #1203: What Child Is This? Lyrics by William Chatterton Dix (1836-1898) Struck by a debilitating disease and confined to a bed for months, William Dix’s life couldn’t have gotten any worse. But it did. Let’s jump into the remarkable story behind "What Child is This" and the life of lyricist William Chatterton Dix. (And we'll uncover the truth about a false rumor tied to the famous carol!) A 🧵: 1/11 #Hymns #ChurchofJesusChrist #NewHymnbook

🎵 Hymn #1202: He Is Born, the Divine Christ Child Traditional French Carol There are many translations of this hymn–but there are two particularly fascinating stanzas in the original French lyrics that are missing in our new hymnal that add depth to this joyful Chistmas carol. Let’s dive in! A 🧵: 1/11

🎵 Hymn #1004: Star Bright Music & Lyrics by Lorin Farrar Wheelwright Lorin Wheelwright intentionally wrote his Christmas song to sound nothing like the timeless Christmas songs we are used to singing. Discover how this humble Christmas song weaves together ancient prophecies, bilingual lyrics, and a musical visionary’s skill of transporting the listener to the ancient Americas.
