東大を卒業して 夢の会社に入社した。 月105時間の残業。 上司に言われた言葉 「髪ボサボサ、目が死んでる」 「君の残業は無駄」 入社8ヶ月後 24歳のクリスマスに 屋上から飛び降りた。 2015年12月、東京都港区。 「電通過労自殺事件」。 高橋まつりさんは東京大学文学部を卒業後、2015年4月に広告大手「電通」に入社した。デジタル・アカウント部に配属され、インターネット広告を担当した。 まつりさんはどんな子だったのか。 母・幸美さんは語る。「まつりは小学生のころから、ずっと電通に入りたいと言っていた。夢を叶えた娘でした」。東大を首席クラスで卒業した努力家だった。 何が起きたのか。 入社後すぐに長時間労働が始まった。2015年10月の残業時間は105時間に達した。睡眠は1日2時間を切る日が続いた。 上司からは「髪ボサボサ、目が死んでる、白目が茶色い。だらしない、何とかしろ」「女の子なんだから、もっと清潔感を持って」「君の残業は会社の生産性を落としている、無駄」などの言葉を受けた。 睡眠2時間 それでも「残業は無駄」と言われた。 まつりさんはTwitterに苦しさを綴っていた。「眠れない眠れない眠れない眠れない」「土日も会社行かなければならないことが本当に辛い、誰か助けて」「もう4時だ。つらい」 助けを求めていた。 SNSに書き続けていた。 2015年12月25日、クリスマスの早朝、電通の社員寮から飛び降りて死亡した。当時24歳だった。 しかし、この事件には「もう一つの顔」がある。 電通は何をしていたのか。 電通は過去にも1991年に入社2年目の社員・大嶋一郎さん（当時24歳）が過労自殺しており、最高裁で会社の賠償責任が確定していた。それでも長時間労働の体質は変わらなかった。 24年前にも同じ死があった。 それでも何も変わらなかった。 電通では残業時間を実際より少なく見せるため、社員が自ら残業時間を過少申告するよう促す文化があったとされる。まつりさんの残業時間も、実態より少なく記録されていた可能性が指摘された。 月105時間の残業が 記録では少なく書かれていた。 🔴 判決と処分 2016年9月、三田労働基準監督署は過労による労災を認定した。まつりさんの死亡前1ヶ月の残業時間は105時間と認定された。 2017年10月、電通は労働基準法違反で東京簡裁から罰金50万円の有罪判決を受けた。法人として起訴された。 民事では、電通が遺族に対して約1億5000万円を支払う内容で和解が成立した。 一人の命 罰金50万円。 当時の社長・石井直氏は辞任した。しかし刑事責任を問われたのは法人としての電通のみ。直接の上司への刑事処分はなかった。 上司への刑事処分 ゼロ。 月105時間残業させた。 「残業は無駄」と言った。 24年前にも同じ死があった。 それでも体質は変わらなかった。 24歳のクリスマスに死んだ。 罰金は 50万円だった。 母・幸美さんは語った。「まつりの死を無駄にしないために、日本の労働環境を変えたい。まつりが最後の犠牲者になってほしい」 まつりさんが最後の犠牲者に なれたのか。 あなたは、月105時間残業させ「残業は無駄」と言い続けた会社への罰金が50万円だったことを、どう思いますか。
