Looking out from 2026, i think it still hasn't happened. 6.9 billion humans have a smart phone. 5.4 billion people use the Internet (1.5 billion people do not use their smart phones as Internet devices). 2 billion people own a PC or a laptop. 100% of the hardware and software is total garbage. Yay now we have Claude to shovel out a billion times more garbage. Big Tech monopolists, moats, everything is proprietary, nothing is open by design. (Nobody uses Linux, except fringe weirdos like me.) Today software feels outright hostile and maliciously Evil. it's spying on you, it's judging you, it's snitching on you, it's trying at all times to scam more of your money. AI only amplifies the worst even more. The Internet has become a giant MKULTRA trauma mind kontrol machine running 24/7. psyops, gossip, status, cliques, a million strangers engaging in mob public humiliation rituals or worship rituals where the winner takes all and becomes rich and famous, while the loser gets canceled forever, personally destroyed, and possibly killed by the mob or thrown in prison for life for posting cringe. Anthropologists look at "Internet culture" and say this is a culture in serious decline and facing serious extinction pressures. The personal computing revolution was never supposed to be this way. We are not there yet. I'm gonna try to build something to fix this. If i have to destroy all the other players on the chessboard to win, then so be it.
