@sumo_tim I find the treatment of Takakeisho through his career by the JSA and YDC completely baffling, everything he was given he had to earn one and a half times over. To think, if he had been given the rope he'd probably still be fighting now.

I think I’ll just have to be content with the fact that Takakeisho absolutely earned the title of Yokozuna twice and was denied cos he was either too short, not a belt fighter or was Takanohana’s prodigy. Nothing else really makes sense at this point.

Finally!!! I've cheered for Kotozakura since he debuted in Makuuchi, so this is a deeply satisfying moment! No more second place for the grandson!

@sumo_tim Kotozakura has been so good at recovery, it doesn't matter if he wins the tachiai. I'll lean towards him, but I have a feeling it'll be a long bout regardless of who wins.

When Takakeisho retired he transferred his remaining energy to Takanosho and that's why he's 8-1

@MWonko42 @sumo_tim I imagine future bouts and Takakeisho's style made it worse, but most people would point directly to his bout against Ichinojo where he slammed his neck into Ichi's chest. That was in Nagoya basho 2021, day 2.
