Check out Kiro! Kiro moves the AI IDE from 'vibe coding' to development driven by specifications. Specs allow AI-powered development that's repeatable, scalable, and deals better with large and complex projects.
Kiro@kirodotdev

This is Kiro - the AI IDE that actually works on your messy, real-world projects. Other AI tools lose context when projects get complex. Kiro gives you spec-driven development that scales beyond prototypes. Free preview available now spr.ly/6016429H8 #KiroDotDev

Introducing Kiro, an all-new agentic IDE that has a chance to transform how developers build software. Let me highlight three key innovations that make Kiro special: 1 - Kiro introduces spec-driven development, helping developers express their intent clearly through natural language specifications and architecture diagrams for complex features. This comprehensive context helps Kiro’s AI agents deliver better results with fewer iterations. 2 - Kiro features intelligent agent hooks that automatically handle critical but time-consuming tasks like generating documentation, writing tests, and optimizing performance. These hooks work in the background, triggered by events like saving files or making commits. It’s like having an experienced developer constantly reviewing your work and handling the maintenance tasks that often get delayed. 3 - Kiro provides a purpose-built interface that adapts to how developers work. Whether you prefer chat interactions or working with specifications, Kiro supports your workflow while keeping you in control of the development process. Kiro is really good at "vibe coding" but goes well beyond that. While other AI coding assistants might help you prototype quickly, Kiro helps you take those prototypes all the way to production by following a mature, structured development process out of the box. This means developers can spend less time on boilerplate code and more time where it matters most – innovating and building solutions that customers will love. Starting today, Kiro is available for free during preview and supports most popular programming languages. Here’s how to get started with @kirodotdev today: kiro.dev/blog/introduci… Excited to see how developers use Kiro, and to work with the developer community to continue to shape Kiro moving forward.

In honor of yesterday's Aurora DSQL GA, I wanted to talk about some of the lessons from nearly 20 years of operating AWS we've built into DSQL, and how they help you build more reliable applications. 🧵

Lambda SnapStart for Python reduces cold start for large data processing Lambda functions. I made a Serverless DuckDb demo with over 10x cold start improvements. Come and see in the Expo.

This is a MASSIVE feature for EventBridge & Step Functions. Makes it super easy to integrate with Container or EC2 workloads — just setup your private API as a target. Fantastic work on this by the team!

@goranopacic Storing snapshots has costs. SnapStart for Java does not charge for that, but has to clear the idle cache after sometime. SnapStart for Python and .NET gives the control back to the developers. You can keep the idle cache as long as needed

same story we had with Java. SnapStart won’t make a difference for cold start just like that. it only makes sense if you pack some precomputed data with it or you have to initialize substantial number of libraries. pricing is just another example of Lambda getting too complicated
James Eastham@plantpowerjames

Yesterday AWS announced SnapStart support for .NET. Today, I take it for a spin. Results were... Sub-optimal. Particularly when compared with the pricing. Video link below. #serverless #dotnet youtu.be/kKI6deWDkC4

The pre:Invent goodies keep coming! This is a big one! Sub-second function start up times for Python and .NET! We did this for Java functions in 2022 and excited to see more workloads optimized through this launch. aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/aws-…

To mark #AWS Lambda's 10th anniversary, I'm sharing the internal PR/FAQ doc that launched it. It's a rare glimpse into the customer challenges we observed at the time and our vision for serverless computing back in the 2010s. Read it here: allthingsdistributed.com/2024/11/aws-la…

@QuinnyPig People use response streaming and API Key auth a lot for GenAI projects. WAF protection, public/private endpoints, and custom domains are also frequent asks from the customers. To meet these requirements, customers usually need to build a proxy layer. This tool makes it simpler.

@Hesketh_GD Yes. It’s like a self hosted Lambda function URL, supports response streaming, can be deployed to VPCs with custom domain names.

@sunhua When would you use this over API Gateway? Because API Gateway does not support streaming?
