Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 chaired a high-level meeting to review sugar production at the conclusion of the current crushing season. DPM/FM expressed satisfaction that sugar production this season has been encouraging, noting that this would ensure adequate supply in the market to meet domestic demand while helping maintain price stability. He emphasized that Pakistan’s response during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos was measured, lawful, and consistent with the UN Charter—targeting only military installations—while warning of the risks of escalation, harm to civilians, and threats to regional peace and security. Reaffirming that the Jammu & Kashmir dispute remains central to regional instability, he called for a just resolution under UN auspices. He also cautioned against unilateral actions affecting the Indus Waters Treaty and highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism, peacekeeping, and global engagement. The DPM/FM also briefed participants on Pakistan’s facilitative and mediating role in supporting ceasefire efforts and promoting peace in the Gulf region and the Middle East. Concluding, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful coexistence in South Asia, while underscoring the nation’s and Armed Forces’ resolve to safeguard sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence. Held on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, the briefing was part of the DPM/FM’s regular engagement with the Diplomatic Corps on key regional and global developments.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident at the firework factory in Hunan Province of China which has resulted in the unfortunate deaths of 26 people and injury to many dozens. Our heartfelt condolences to the Leadership of China, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the bereaved families in this difficult moment of grief. We also pray for the swift and full recovery of those injured in the incident. Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with the Government and people of China in this hour of sorrow.

DPM/FM reviewed the current status of different austerity measures as announced by the Government earlier. He stressed that since international fuel prices are still very high therefore, it’s a national duty of everyone including the Government that the conservations/austerity measures may be followed in true letter and spirit. For tasks of very important and urgent nature which are hit by these measures the cases may be brought for consideration of the Cabinet Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures so that essential functions of Government are not compromised. The meeting was attended by the Ministers for Petroleum, Information Technology and Telecom, Climate Change, Minister of State for Finance, Secretaries Cabinet, Establishment, Commerce, Petroleum, Culture and Heritage and other relevant stakeholders.

نارووال انٹرنیشنل پیس ڈائیلاگ 2026 میرے لیے صرف ایک ایونٹ نہیں تھا بلکہ ایک جذباتی اور تاریخی لمحہ تھا—وہ لمحہ جب میں نے اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھا کہ امن کی پکار پر دنیا نے لبیک کہا اور میرا اپنا شہر نارووال عالمی قیادت، مکالمے اور امید کا مرکز بن گیا۔ مجھے بے حد فخر ہے کہ اسی سرزمین پر، جہاں کبھی آزمائشوں کی کہانیاں لکھی گئیں، آج ہم نے امن، برداشت اور باہمی احترام کا عالمی بیانیہ تشکیل دیا۔ دنیا کو تصادم نہیں بلکہ مکالمے کی ضرورت ہے۔ جب 4000 سے زائد نوجوان، 200 قومی وفود اور عالمی مندوبین ایک ہی چھت تلے جمع ہوئے تو یوں محسوس ہوا جیسے نارووال واقعی دنیا کے نقشے پر امن کا مرکز بن چکا ہو۔ خاص طور پر جب میں نے ڈاکٹر سعد الدین العثمانی، سابق وزیر اعظم مراکش، اور دیگر بین الاقوامی شخصیات کو یہاں دیکھا تو یہ احساس اور بھی گہرا ہو گیا کہ نارووال صرف ایک شہر نہیں بلکہ ایک عالمی پلیٹ فارم بن چکا ہے جہاں خیالات، امید اور مستقبل کا تعین ہو رہا ہے۔ یہ مکالمہ ایک وسیع تر تناظر کی عکاسی بھی کرتا ہے، جہاں شہباز شریف بطور وزیرِ اعظم اور عاصم منیر بطور فیلڈ مارشل کی حالیہ ایران–امریکہ تنازع میں امن کے لیے سفارتی اور اسٹریٹجک کوششیں قابلِ تحسین ہیں۔ ان کی قیادت نے دنیا کو ایک بار پھر یہ موقع فراہم کیا کہ تنازع کو تصادم کے بجائے مذاکرات کے ذریعے حل کیا جا سکے۔ نارووال میں منعقد ہونے والا یہ ڈائیلاگ انہی قومی کوششوں کا عکس ہے—ایک ایسا پلیٹ فارم جہاں اختلاف کو مکالمے میں ڈھال کر امن کی راہیں ہموار کی جا رہی ہیں۔ اس مکالمے کی اصل روح اس پس منظر میں بھی جڑی ہے جہاں 6 مئی 2018 کا وہ دردناک واقعہ آج بھی میرے لیے ایک یادگار اور سبق آموز لمحہ ہے—جب ایک انتہا پسند مذہبی گروہ کے زیرِ اثر آئے ایک نوجوان نے مجھ پر قاتلانہ حملہ کیا۔ یہ واقعہ اس بات کی تلخ یاد دہانی ہے کہ نفرت اور انتہاپسندی کس طرح افراد کو استعمال کر کے معاشرے میں انتشار پیدا کرتی ہے۔ تاہم، اسی ذاتی تکلیف کو ایک بڑے قومی اور انسانی مشن میں بدلنا میرے لیے ایک عزم بن گیا—امن، برداشت اور شعور کے فروغ کا عزم۔ آج نارووال نے یہ ثابت کیا کہ اختلاف کو نفرت نہیں بلکہ فہم میں بدل کر ہی پائیدار امن حاصل کیا جا سکتا ہے۔ ایک نازک عالمی لمحے میں جب دنیا کو سمت کی ضرورت ہے، نارووال نے قیادت کی ہے؛ پاکستان کی آواز نے برداشت اور بقائے باہمی کا پیغام دیا ہے، اور ہم سب نے مل کر یہ سیکھا ہے کہ امن اب کوئی انتخاب نہیں بلکہ بقا، ترقی اور استحکام کی بنیاد ہے۔
