Not entirely so. In a grand era, affordability is often the greatest advantage, especially with DeepSeek's structural price advantage. As its capabilities continue to catch up, the path to maintaining a competitive price becomes its strongest moat.

I use all of the major LLMs on a weekly basis across both my businesses. The thing people are missing about this trend is that it's not really about Claude vs OpenAI. It's that developers are switching back and forth every few months depending on who shipped last. Claude was the best coding model for months. GPT-5.5 launched recently and all I see is people moving. Now DeepSeek V4 is already pulling users from both. Switching cost is basically zero at the individual level. You can move your entire workflow in an afternoon. I think that's the real story. Not which model is winning right now but the fact that none of them can hold onto individual users for more than a few months. Enterprise is different. Those contracts are sticky. But at the developer and power user layer, there is no moat right now.

There's just something about reading LLM long-form output that just feels like reading mush. It just doesn't make any sense. Reading comprehension is ~2x harder than human-written prose.

After a couple months of building with Claude, it's clear to me that deep focus on a single task is the best approach. I've tried multiple terminals open on multiple codebases, but it only yields a bunch of shit that remains shit for longer. It makes it feel clear that craft is not going anywhere. These things are still total morons if you yourself don't know what you're doing.
But big question remains how engineers become good or better engineers when these tools are available.

昨天她刷到了几个短视频，今早起来就来问我 “什么是龙虾” 给她解释了一下；
又问 “token 是什么？为什么龙虾要消耗 token？” 又给她解释一下背后的硬件资源和电费；
她思考了片刻 “token 这个概念很妙啊，国家现在甚至都发放免费 token 来扶持创业团队，说明它是一个很重要的东西，到处都用得着，而这个东西如果以后真的用的很多了就自然而然会有交换和囤积的需求，如果有了这两个功能，那 token 就具备了货币属性，各种衍生玩法自然会孕育而生”，她越说越激动，一边说两眼一边放着光芒。。。
我赶快打断她的思绪飞扬 “别激动，这东怎么可能成货币呢？第一价格是多少是模型服务商定的，第二不能流通，第三每月一到就作废复位，跟话费额度和游戏点卡差不多的东西，你听过这两个东西搞出什么花样来了吗？”
“token 的需求远远大过游戏点卡，现在是国家战略层面的东西了，根本不是哪家公司控制的了的事情，你想如果你每个月有用不完的 token 你是不是就有交换的需求？现在你剩的量本身也不值几文钱，但将来大家的量起来了，你多余的 token 已经值那么几百上千了，你会不会起心思想卖给他人用？”
“你说这个需求到时存在的，但是。。。”
“你别但是，既然有交换和囤积的需求，那么如果那些厂商服务商不开通交换功能，那是不是可以设计一种东西和 token 强绑定起来，打通厂商隔阂，让这种东西去实现这些功能呢？”
