I don’t think I’d ever not enjoyed watching Chelsea as much as I did under Maresca. Watching Poch’s side was fun then Maresca came along and drained the life out of the players with his rigid way of playing.

Maresca is a very good manager. Considering we have the most scandalous of owners, to win 2 trophies, one of them CWC against a top team like PSG in the final, and qualify us for UCL with a generally mediocre personnel, is no mean feat. He has shown his flaws at times...

@giantego2 @superbluechels Common sense should tell you that clubs add staffs to aid the main guys especially when alonso does not even have a GK coach and always uses the one provided by the club. There is also the fact that he will help in providing info on the players for smoother transition

McFarlane is liked and respected by the players so no real issue that he stays on. He will help Alonso with information on behind scenes issues as he has been there to see it first hand.
As a coach he has had two very close games with Liverpool and City. Also seen as a bridge for the younger players.
Not sure why people are complaining.

We’ve really struck gold with the Alonso appointment, an actual serious manager who was willing to come here despite everything. Chelsea for the love of god do not let him down. Get him what he needs, get him some serious players.

@MaxFSport I support the idea of keeping him as well. Knows the academy well, worked with many of these players already and I think he's pretty good tactically with the way he has set us up for games.
