Saw a little baby in GP clinic with what appeared to be a harmless & self limiting condition All obs were normal But there was something v slightly odd in the history after a specific question that revealed this red flag. I then spoke to the paeds consultant & the baby was referred to rapid access clinic I will say it once, twice, multiple times. There is NO such thing as a “simple case” until AFTER diagnosis. PAs have NO place seeing undifferentiated patients, it’s particularly dangerous with babies & children. We urgently need RCGP to state this in black & white.
