先日放送された『モーニングショー』の番組内において、玉川 徹氏が、ジャレッド・クシュナー氏はユダヤ人であるという理由で外交交渉から排除されるべきだと示唆した懸念すべき発言について、テレビ朝日に正式な書簡を送りました。
クシュナー氏の外交における役割は、彼の宗教とは無関係です。彼はアブラハム合意を含め、地域の平和の前進に大きく貢献しており、豊富な実績と専門知識を有しています。
平和構築は、経験と誠実さに基づくべきであり、個人の属性や宗教に基づくべきではありません。
差別や反ユダヤ主義が入り込む余地は一切ありません。
とりわけホロコースト・メモリアルデーである今日においては、あらゆる憎悪や排除に対して断固として立ち向かう必要があります。
テレビ朝日が本件に対し、然るべき重大さをもって対応することを信じています。

I have sent a formal letter to TV Asahi regarding concerning remarks made by Mr. Toru Tamagawa on “Morning Show,” suggesting that Mr. Jared Kushner should be excluded from diplomatic negotiations because he is Jewish. Mr. Kushner’s role in diplomacy has nothing to do with his religion. He has contributed significantly to advancing peace in the region, including through the Abraham Accords, and brings valuable experience and expertise to such efforts. Peace efforts must be based on experience and good faith - not identity or religion. There is no place for discrimination or antisemitism. Especially today, we must stand firmly against any form of hatred and exclusion. I trust TV Asahi will address this matter with the seriousness it deserves.
