@Tesco I have never “failed” a “check”. Surely if that happened you wouldn’t allow a customer to use scan as you shop scanner in the future?

@suzymeldrum If in the past a customer has failed a check they will receive a full check on their next visits, this is part of our policy I'm afraid. I hope this helps explain a little about how this system operates. TY - Lainey 6/6

@Tesco I shop in Tesco most days. I have used scan as you shop every time I buy more than a couple of items.

@suzymeldrum However if a customer hasn't used the service a lot (say, they've used it only a couple of times), they'll normally receive more frequent checks than a customer with an established Scan as you Shop history. 4/6

@suzymeldrum Hi Suzy, I've personally called Duty Manager at this branch; they explained this is not a new policy at this store. Service checks are standard practice and all customers are randomly selected. On average, most customers will be selected for a service check 1 in every 5 shops1/6

@Tesco It took nearly 20 mins. The reason I use the self scan is for speed. If my entire shop is going to be checked 1 in 6 times that completely defeats the point.

@Tesco I have previously had checks. I have no issue with checks. However, I have never had my entire shop checked. Nor seen anyone else have that done. The lad doing it told me it was a new company policy. That now they had to have 2 staff members to facilitate it.

@suzymeldrum Hi Suzy, we haven't had a change of Policy with regards to our Scan As you Shop facilities, however this may be a new rule put in place by the store management team of that store. TY - Lainey
