@blueblossoming Try Whitman! I find him very straightforward to understand. Leaves of Grass is his big ol’ collection, but since you say you have trouble understanding poetry you may want to start out with specifically Drum Taps, which us the part of LoG that deals with the Civil War

#booktwt pls recommend poems (preferably classics) for someone who doesn't like poetry (trouble understanding it, cannot appreciate rhythm and meter, cannot see the significance of literary devices) and generally struggles w the obvious 🙏 i cannot let this go on any longer

@heemeeraa Reading is not meant to be something that is put in a schedule. When I was in elementary I was reading books under my desk in the middle of math lessons. It’s a hobby, it’s supposed to be something you enjoy, people are treating it like they clocked in, this isn’t a job.
