These are my children. My heart. Until they came into my life, I didn’t understand what real, unconditional love truly meant. From that moment on, every choice, every breath, every dream was shaped by them. Now imagine someone whom you’ve never met believing they have a divine right to murder them just like that. Now multiply that horror by 15,000. 15,000 CHILDREN.. gone. And now imagine people who call themselves moral, even CHRISTIAN cheering this on. Evangelicals, in particular, defending the slaughter of children in the name of a “divine right.” Is that what it means to be good? To be godly? To be human? You don’t have to be a parent to know that this is wrong. You just have to have a conscience. These were children, just like mine who wanted to live, laugh, and grow and now they can’t because the world let “divine right” become a license to murder innocents. I feel nothing but shame that this is happening in my lifetime and even deeper shame that there are men and women, so called leaders, who twist themselves into knots trying to justify it as anything other than what it plainly is: genocide. Even after he explained who he was, what he was doing, and provided the ID issued by the newspaper, and journalists who were present vouched that he was a journalist, the police still stopped him from carrying out his duties as a reporter and took him to the Maradana police station.
