right. so it applies to australia, which is fine and which is exactly what i wrote above. things are different in the usa. it is just what it is. death penalty is less about detering crime but more about bringing to justice to those who have committed heinous crimes and preventing them from doing the same in the future. eg in the slaughter of iryna zarutska, many would argue the criminal should face the death penalty.

HOLY SHIT my cousin got robbed at knifepoint in a midnight home invasion in Brisbane last night. He was sleeping and heard intruders. He yelled out and they came into his room with a knife and demanded his keys and wallet at knife point. Three guys in balaclavas. They were speaking a foreign language too.
