@evertonblue76 Not about the # teams, it’s about price. Thought of making the car ride down this morning, but FIFA closed the secondary market to keep prices elevated. They’re holding thousands of unsold tickets in the lower sections.
English

Not sure what FIFA were thinking when they decided to make this a 48 team #WorldCup (apart from 💰) but that is a lot of empty seats.

@KirkwoodandDunn 90 day countdown to the self appointed “Commissioner” to pick the “Mean Green” to win in Week 1.

@ClayTravis Budget issues and buying low, selling high. Just proves there is a ready and willing market to bid on an expanded CFP that in its current form is vastly undervalued.

@fbscout_florida Kirby Smart has not won a big game since the NIL era began. Outcoached by Freeman, Deboer and Goulding in consecutive seasons. When you can’t stack each position w/5⭐️ ‘s and three deep, your coaching flaws get exposed.

My top 10 college football coaches includes a focus on game day coaching some others may not value as highly.
1) Curt Cignetti - Indiana
2) Kirby Smart - Georgia
3) Marcus Freeman - Notre Dame
4) Ryan Day - Ohio State
5) Kyle Whittingham - Michigan
6) Dan Lanning - Oregon
7) Mike Elko - Texas A&M
8) Willie Fritz - Houston
9) Kalani Sitake - BYU
10) Kenny Dillingham - ASU

@bkoo Big Ten needs to require schools schedule a 10th P4 game. Only league that doesn’t.

@DaveStott34952 @JoshPateCFB What’s your point? Pate’s a paid contributor at ESPN which has mobilized their entire workforce to bash the 24 Team playoff 24/7. This is really about Pate getting his a*# handed to him debating Clay face to face.
English

@JoshPateCFB He sold out to and now works for the media company who’s dying to get a bigger hold in College Football which would come with playoff expansion. His takes are bought and paid for. I wouldn’t waste my time debating him.
English

I’ve been dunking on 30A mansion owners all week. Why not add another to the list?
I accept 🤝
Clay Travis@ClayTravis
I publicly challenge @JoshPateCFB to a Lincoln-Douglas style debate on the merits of college football expansion. (I am Lincoln, he is Douglas.) We can conduct the debate in an out of conference home-home format. (Something which would be far more common in an expanded playoff.)

@MattHayesCFB Matt Hayes is angry and it makes for very boring “journalism”

@Kyle16307996859 @MichaelWBratton @MattHayesCFB SEC AD’s and Coaches are on board because more appearances mean more $ to keep their athletic departments afloat. Sankey will ultimately do what they tell him to do and not what ESPN wants.
English

@MichaelWBratton @MattHayesCFB Regardless of who you root for, the 24 team playoff is absolutely asinine. Expand it to 16 like the FCS has had for years and leave it alone. There aren’t even 16 teams who can actually win a title. Why would we want 24? College football is dying.
English

The Playoff is NOT expanding, says @MattHayesCFB
"The (SEC) will not do it. They are at the point, alright, we are Sparta.
"We are 300, you guys are the Persian Empire, and we are going to win."

"I think 24 is preposterous and 16 is bordering on it." - @ReceDavis on College Football Playoff expansion
English

@NextRoundLive @slmandel @ReceDavis Shocking to hear that the OG ESPN Company Man doesn’t want to see his employer lose its fist tight grip on the CFP.
English

@PorcupinePoke @flugempire That spin is only going to get louder and louder as the other commissioners shove Sankey in a closet. Mickey Mouse is backed into a corner and going to lose their most valuable property.
English

@flugempire ESPN is in full spin. Their talking heads are all pushing their company line.
English

Trying to be kind….but this is bizarre analysis.
Echo chamber is loud.
Nobody heathy is sitting out games that might determine anything from a 1st rd bye, to 1st rd home game, to 1st round road game to being out of playoffs.
ESPN is engulfed mass hysteria.
Awful Announcing@awfulannouncing
"If we live in a world where Ohio State and Michigan rest their starters for that game at the end of the season, because they've got the potential of five playoff games still sitting in front of them, then college football, as we have known it, ceases to exist." - Mike Greenberg

@awfulannouncing Greenberg has “no idea what espn does or doesn’t want”. The eSECpn propaganda wheel is gonna spin outta control the next six months.

@ramblinroundup @CalAthletics @theACC The $$ figures are low, but Bears need to own their mistake. P12 implosion was happening in slow motion and Cal did zero to get ahead of it. Should have been back channeling a move to the B1G as soon as SC & UCLA announced their move.
English

According to @CalAthletics 2024–25 financial report, the Bears received $22,798,373 in @theACC conf distributions (reduced T1 share, ACCN share, and non-media/bowl revenue). At the same time, team travel costs jumped from $10.3M to $14.3M in their debut ACC season, nearly 40% increase, driven by cross-country travel in the Eastern Time Zone. @Golden_Bearz @DidTheACCDie @TaylorTannebaum #Calgorithm

@BQ_Sports @CFBTalkDaily Was that the program killer? Or firing Frank Solich to hire Bill Callaghan?
English

@CFBTalkDaily It’s Nebraska firing Pelini, who averaged 9.5 wins per year, and hiring Mike Riley who had only won 9 games 1 time in his last 6 years at Oregon State… had a losing PAC conference record. And it’s not close.
The Huskers have never recovered. Program killing hire tbh.
