@jekebfj @mz_storymakers Das erlebte ich hautnah in Melbourne, 1997/8, als sie Formel 1 im Albert Park abhielten und ich im CBD wohnte und South Bank arbeitete, das Motorengeheule bestimmte die Stadt für einen Moment, es war wirklich sehr bemerkenswert. Sowas wünscht man sich für die ganze Altstadt.

@ariozick @bencasnocha From a pure logical view, "all" hands doesn't even imply 2/person. I wouldn't even know why I should feel offended. "All" means "as many as there are". So they didn't even read the actual text.

@bencasnocha This is funny, because I know a fair amount of people without Arms/hands (lost in various wars over the years) and I don't think they care

A friend who works at Google said he wanted to raise a topic at the next team all-hands. His manager took him aside and said they don't use the phrase "all-hands meeting" on his teams at Google because it's insensitive language. Because not everyone has hands.

Fillauer Triple Swivel is a connector device they claim is so important, that only certified prosthetists can buy it. In reality, that stuff is so weak that it comes apart by itself, also it lacks EU registration and CE marking/documentation. swisswuff.ch/tech/?p=12767

@ruth_madeley I had people recommend/suggest that I perform suicide given my handicap. I have no idea how they ever want to recover from such an attitude, but I do wish them all the best. They are in a position that I can't disclose, but that makes their statement possibly outrageous.

@Bedorah5 @MamaGm2 Yes, to this day people get frightened when us arm amputees wear functional and comfortable prosthetic hooks. It's not us though. That's on y'all, that fear.

@MamaGm2 Lol! True! As a kid, I went to primary school with a girl who only had one arm. The other arm, a prosthetic, with a hook type of thing on the end. I was 6, that girl scared the living daylights out of me! 😁

@bobbylox Split hook on a body powered arm isn't a pirate thing. So we're not wearing simple "hooks".

If you're a land-based amputee and you decide to get a hook instead of a prosthetic hand, how can you think that's not appropriation of Pirate culture?
